The Youth Matters Awards celebrate the incredible achievements of young people, staff and volunteers across YMCA England & Wales, recognising inspiring stories, resilience in the face of adversity, and those making a real difference in their communities.

This nomination reflects the passion, hard work and dedication of our colleagues, residents and volunteers, and we couldn't be prouder.

What a transformation! ✨

Denise and Marcela recently designed and redecorated this outdoor space at our Great Yarmouth site, creating a calm and welcoming environment for counsellors and residents to connect.

This project was completed through volunteer hours, demonstrating how giving a little time can make a big difference.

Sunday Reflection: Together We Rise

Life doesn't always follow the path we planned. We all face challenges, make mistakes, and carry parts of our past that can feel heavy. Sometimes the climb towards a brighter future can seem impossible when you're facing it alone.

At YMCA Norfolk, we see every day that a person's past does not define their future.

We work alongside young people who are rising above homelessness, difficult circumstances, poor mental health, broken relationships, and setbacks that have shaped their journey. Through support, encouragement, and opportunity, they discover their strength, rebuild their confidence, and take positive steps forward.

Rising isn't about never falling. It's about finding the courage to stand again. It's about having people around you who believe in your potential, even when you struggle to see it yourself.

This Sunday, let's reflect on the power of community, compassion, and second chances. When we lift each other up, offer support instead of judgment, and create opportunities instead of barriers, incredible things happen.

Because no one should have to rise alone.
