Well what a busy weekend for 231, not one but two events last weekend.

Well done to everyone that represented the squadron last Sunday at the Norfolk &Suffolk football Wing competition. The players showed great attitude, worked hard from start to finish and gave their best in every match, special mention CDT Woodrow for being team captain and keeping team morale high all weekend!!

The team missed the semifinals by only one point but they can be very proud of themselves and the performance they showed on the pitch. Our team has shown respect for team mates, opponents, officials and supporters. Their behaviour was excellent 👏.

This event was a great experience and proof of fantastic sportsmanship, friendship and teamwork. Well done again 231 Norwich squadron for a fantastic day.

And congratulations to Cpl Daniels for representing 231 AND the Wing at the Regional athletics finals on Saturday, he did a superb job at the javelin throwing showing hard work and determination!

Yesterday saw 6 cadets from 231 and 222 head up to Syerston for a gliding experience flight ✈️ 🛫.
25degree heat 🥵 and 45 degree climbs at 60+mph 🤯 and up they went! We even had an ex 231 cadet Flt Lt Adam White look after our 231 cadets all day taking us on thermal tours of the area, we even bumped into some 611 VGS staff!
Thanks to everyone at 644 VGS for having us.

231's Multi Activity Training weekend was a roaring success! On Saturday we had 22 blue radio achievements with great thanks to FS Cobbold from Thetford Sqn, and 5 Bronze space awards with cadets from around the region with , and taking part!
On Sunday we had a mix of 10 cadets from and 231 achieve the coveted Silver Space award, with one cadets sign up for Gold Space later this year as soon as she passed! And we had 7 cadets pass their blue leadership being taught by CWO Blakemore!
Nearly 40 badges awarded in just one weekend! Amazing work everyone! We can't wait for the next one!

No military experience is needed — just a willingness to get involved and support young people as they learn new skills, take on challenges and grow in confidence.

✅ Civilian Instructors – helping with activities, sport, STEM, training and more

If you can spare just 2 evenings a week, we’ll provide all the training, guidance and support you need. It’s flexible, rewarding and makes a huge difference to what our cadets can experience.

Many thanks to the staff from 864 Watton Sqn for popping over and helping our cadets get to grips with the road marching requirements and telling us of the opportunities we can have, and also helping us understand the DofE award more. After last night's talks I've already heard several cadets talk about doing both! Thanks again Flt Lt Stapleton and FS TD!

Congratulations to the 231 swimming Team did really well last weekend Cpl Mendes won Gold Breaststroke and Silver in Freestyle, Cadets Allen, Woodrow, and Burton got to the final in the team 50m medley and came 5 out of 6. But the other teams did tower over them and they put out a really good fight even in their heats. Well done to all those who attended!

Last Thursday we had a special treat for the cadets at 231 Norwich Sqn! We had a visit to the local fire station to see the engines and all the gear the Norfolk Fire Service use, we had ambulances from St John Ambulance come show use all the equipment they use to help casualties, and Norfolk police bought along some particularly snazzy patrol cars! All in all the cadets loved the entire evening! Thanks to all those involved!

Congratulations to our very own Sgt Ashley Moates, who for the past week has been at RAF Cranwell taking his Combined Initial Course (CIC).
The course took new adult uniformed staff, both SNCO and Officers, through core RAFAC principles, drill, leadership, drill and to gain an ILM qualification, oh and more drill! This training transitioned them from volunteers to recognised leaders within the organisation! Well done to all who attended!
