We are please to announce that we are holding a joint conference with The Joe Dix Foundation.

Child Exploitation Conference- A Norfolk Perspective.

We are joining together to improve awareness and gain a greater understanding of the issues facing young people in our County. We have speakers, Her Honour Judge Katharine Moore and Chief Constable Paul Sanford.

Two Norfolk charities that specialise in child exploitation have joined together to discuss issues facing children in our county.

This year for International Women’s Day we celebrate and remember our founders.

The Magdalene Group was born out of the vision of two Norwich Magistrates Doreen Betts and Doreen Green.

Both Doreens regularly sat in court, dealing with young women who were groomed and exploited and brought before them frequently and which meant they had to go back out on the streets.

Both ladies were deeply moved by the young women they met and understood the abuse, and control they experienced. They reflected on the privilege of their own daughters of similar ages and felt compelled to do something and from this they established The Magdalene Group in 1992.
