Could you help women find a route out of homelessness?

The Magdalene Group is recruiting a Women's Services Senior Practitioner - Outreach to join our Doorway Women's Service in Norwich.

This is a varied and rewarding position supporting women who are experiencing homelessness, including women who are rough sleeping or hidden homeless. You'll provide one-to-one support, advocacy and outreach, while working closely with partner organisations to help women access housing, health services and other support.

We're looking for someone who can combine compassionate frontline practice with leadership responsibilities, including case management, safeguarding and supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality services.

What we offer:
• Salary of £28,000-£30,000 FTE
• 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays (FTE)

Our Women’s Wellbeing Inclusion Group continues to offer a welcoming, supportive space for women on their wellbeing journey. Each month, we host a trusted professional to lead an informed discussion on a key women’s health topic, creating room for learning, conversation and connection over free, healthy food.

Our next women’s wellbeing session will be led by the NHS Cervical Screening Team, taking place on Thursday 20 August, 1.00pm–3.00pm, at 61 King Street, Norwich NR1 1PH.

Attendance is free, and all women are welcome to join us.

We recently welcomed Ellie Yuen, Chartered Musculoskeletal and Women's Health Specialist Physiotherapist, for an engaging and informative pelvic health session.

Ellie made the session fun, interactive, and accessible, helping women better understand pelvic health while sharing practical tips and simple exercises to take home and continue practising.

A big thank you also to the NHS - Integrated Contraception and Sexual Health team, who joined us and provided additional support. At the end of the session, they helped one of our attendees complete a home testing kit, ensuring she felt confident about the next steps.

Sessions like these empower women with knowledge, encourage open conversations, and help break down the stigma surrounding pelvic health. We're grateful to Ellie and the iCaSH team for their expertise and support in making this such a valuable event.

This Marie Claire article puts something into focus that often slips out of sight. It doesn’t stop being important just because England are out. The tension that builds around big tournaments doesn’t fall away overnight, and the impact on some women doesn’t ease when the country moves on. The piece reminds us that while the noise around football fades, the behaviour that puts women at risk doesn’t follow the same pattern.

For the women we support, harm doesn’t run on fixtures or results. It carries on in the background, often unnoticed and often ignored. That’s why we keep talking about it. Even when the headlines shift, the reality for many women hasn’t changed, and we won’t let the conversation fall away because the final whistle has blown.

England are out of the World Cup. But for some women, the real ordeal begins after the final whistle.

Over 200 voices. One message: end violence against women and girls. On a rainy Wednesday evening, our community came together to honour 118 women lost last year and to demand a safer future. Thank you to everyone who walked, supported, spoke, sang and stood with us.

Just wow! Over 200 people coming to support The Magdalene Group
on a very wet Wednesday evening, gathering together with one voice! Last year 118 women were killed at the hands of men and we honoured every one of them as we continue to call for zero tolerance on (Violence Against Women and Girls)

Huge thanks to Lady Pippa Dannatt for her opening address and to Invidia Voices for great singing to send us on our way! It was such a pleasure to welcome Lord Mayor Karen Davis with her consort Emma Corlett and Sheriff of Norwich, Dave Shraga who joined us on the strut. Thank you to St John’s Ambulance or walking with us each year!

What a welcome by Norwich City FC, Gary Dack and Lauren Blyth for providing refreshments and opening it doors to show support and male allyship. The poetry from Helen Ivory beautifully captured the evening.

Thank you to each individual that attended, to the women’s organisations and business groups that continue to support zero tolerance on VAWG.
