Abby is a kitten who came in for trap-neuter-release as part of a small colony of farm cats, fortunately we realised how tame and friendly Abby is before she was returned, as she has a very rare issue called Ovarian remnant syndrome which can occur when a tiny bit of ovarian tissue is left inside a cat after spaying, causing them to have 'heats' the same way an entire female does. This needs to be removed as although she can't get pregnant, coming into heat is unsettling for them and puts them at risk of attention from male cats. Removing the tissue needs to be done whilst the cat is in heat as it can be hard to find otherwise, unfortunately for us, Abby went out of heat the day before her operation was booked! We are now waiting for her to come back into heat.

Abby is available for adoption and may be able to leave us before her operation, for this to happen you would need to have a car to take her to Rackheath Vets the morning of her operation (and be able to recognise the signs of heat so we know when to book her in), this will be scheduled at short notice so you will need to have a flexible schedule in the mornings between 8 and 9am.

Abby is:

Five months old
Spayed
Microchipped
Vaccinated including for leukemia
Super friendly, loving and confident
A bit crazy and very energetic
Able to live with other cats

She needs at least one young companion cat in the household to play with.

If you're interested in adopting Abby please send us a message at the page, home check and adoption donation apply and we only consider homes which are not near any busy, fast or main roads.

ADOPTED.

AVAILABLE TO A HOME WITH ANOTHER KITTEN OR VERY YOUNG CAT IN IT. PLEASE READ THE FULL POST BEFORE APPLYING, THANK YOU.
We have this little girl who will soon looking for a home, she was born in a garden and had no handling for the first 12 weeks or so of her life so is a bit nervous, but she's getting there. We are looking for a home not near any fast, busy or main roads, please send us a message at the page if you are interested in adopting her.
Sadly she will probably be our last kitten as homing has been so slow this year that we have decided to shut our doors as we can no longer ask fosterers to keep cats for many months with no prospect of homes for them.

Another month on and these little ones still haven't found a home 😞

Can there really be no home for these two?!
Garfy and Odie have been with us since they were 8 weeks old but have not had one application. They are the sweetest little things, it's hard knowing they still haven't found their forever home and think they are already in it, they are so attached to their fosterer.

Odie, 18 weeks old.
Neutered and microchipped.
Loves: cuddling with her fosterer in front of the fire, playing with her brother, the resident cat.
Doesn't love: the cold, new people.

Garfy, 18 weeks old.
Neutered and microchipped.
Loves: climbing, jumping on and off things, fuss when not playing, his sister.
Doesn't love: new people.

We are looking for a a very safe home away from any fast, busy or main roads, with access to a safe reasonable sized garden or area of green backing any size garden, Garfy will be an adventurous cat and is already keen to go out.

If you are interested in adopting these two please send a message to the page. Home check and adoption donation apply.

These are the only carriers we recommend.

I saw a post where another cat has escaped from its carrier near the vets it was visiting.
The fact is the only secure carriers are this type shown in the pic.
The bar prevents the top opening and when it’s inserted the right way round (it should ALWAYS be inserted the right way), it can be locked in place.
I do not trust ANY plastic carriers at all. The plastic can shatter if it’s cold, can bend if it’s warm, a too heavy cat can cause it to stretch meaning the door falls off. I’ve seen all of the above happen.
Plastic carriers of any type are only suitable for small furries IMO.
Fabric carriers can be as bad. If a cat poops or pees in those then the pvc covered cardboard base is ruined and what feeble support the floor gave a cat is gone. Cats can pull the zips open with their claws if determined enough.
I’ve seen it all happen and it’s not pretty.
I know not everyone can afford the really good carriers but the type in the pic will last you the lifetime and longer of your cat.
It’s too harsh a lesson to learn when your cat escapes so don’t let it happen to you. Learn by these events when you hear about them happening and get yourself a decent carrier.
Search MDC Exports cat carrier on Amazon to see them.
This post is not about what happened to that poor cat and carer today, me reading it was a reminder to say something about carriers.
I see so many types being used at all the vets I visit and sometimes you can see the carrier used is totally wrong for the cat. Too small is common. Too floppy with no support is common. Heard of one where it was mended with blue tack the other day. OMG, blue tack!!!
Anyway just wanted to warn folks of the dangers.

Here's little Odie, sister of Garfy. Odie spent two weeks longer than Garfy living the wild life so she is timid, but incredibly sweet and gentle despite this. Odie, Garfy and their mum are all available for adoption, Odie will be in a pair with either her mum or Garfy (yet to be decided, Garfy is very rambunctious in comparison to the girls and can be a bit much for Odie). If you're interested in kitten adoption in pairs, or in a pair of, or single, adult please drop us a message at the page. All cats are vaccinated, microchipped and adult cats are neutered, adoption donation and home check apply.
