💙 This Carers Week, we celebrate the incredible people who make a difference every single day.

Celebrating our young volunteers💙

As part of their Duke of Edinburgh's Award, our young people have been making a real difference in communities across the country.

Over the past year, they have dedicated an incredible 559 hours of volunteering, creating an estimated social value of £4,216.

From litter picking and supporting local charities to helping neighbours with shopping and gardening, assisting foster carers with newsletters, and taking part in community projects, their efforts have had a positive impact on so many people.

We are incredibly proud of the kindness, commitment, and community spirit our young people continue to show every day 🌟

Celebrating our young volunteers this Volunteers' Week (1-7 June)💙

As part of their Duke of Edinburgh's Award, our young people have been making a real difference in communities across the country.

Around half of sibling groups in care are separated when they enter the care system.

For many children and young people, siblings are their biggest source of comfort, familiarity, and support during difficult times. Staying together can help children feel safer, more secure, and less alone while adjusting to a new environment.

At AFA Fostering, we understand how important these relationships are, which is why there is a growing need for foster carers who can care for sibling groups and help keep those important family bonds together.

As Foster Care Fortnight comes to a close, we’re sharing an important reminder: You don't have to be perfect💙

Fostering isn’t about perfection, it’s about presence. It’s the small, consistent moments that help children and young people feel safe, supported, and valued.

Consistency will always matter more than getting everything right.

You don’t need to have all the answers. You just need to show up, keep going, and offer a steady, caring home where a child can feel secure and understood.

If you’ve been considering fostering, remember this: you don’t have to be perfect to make a lasting difference, you just have to be you 💙
