🌿 STUDY DAY | 16 OCTOBER 2026 🌿
Exploring Biomechanics, Peanut Ball, Positioning & Aromatherapy
Join the Norwich RCM Union Branch for a practical and inspiring study day exploring movement, positioning, biomechanics, wellbeing and complementary approaches within maternity care.
👩⚕️ Sessions provided by Wendy Proctor – Midwife
✨ What will we explore?
🥜 Peanut Ball – 3-hour session
Explore the evidence and practical application of peanut balls, including positioning, pelvic movement, maternal comfort and use alongside epidural analgesia.
🌿 Aromatherapy – 1-hour session
Explore aromatherapy as a complementary approach to wellbeing and comfort, including current evidence, essential oil safety, contraindications and appropriate use.
🦴 Biomechanics – 3-hour session
Explore the biomechanics of movement and positioning, maternal posture, fetal position and how these principles can be applied confidently in clinical practice.
📚 The day will provide an opportunity to explore evidence, develop practical skills and consider how movement, positioning and complementary approaches can be incorporated into individualised care and informed decision-making for women and their birth choices.
💜 A chance to learn, connect and develop with others outside of work to share knowledge and build confidence in practical skills.
