What are you doing this Saturday?

Well, we have a few suggestions. The Cobholm Primary Academy field will come alive with an incredible programme prepared by our friends at Freshly Greated.

Come say hi to Eko the Sea Giant - a 13-foot-tall puppet 🌊!

And he won't be alone.

Young local musician will be filling the air with music🎶
bubbles floating through the sky 🫧.
There'll be workshops and activities to try 🤹‍♂️
and plenty of opportunities to simply spend time together 🤗.

Grab your whole family and join us on Saturday August 22 at 3:30pm outside the Premier on Mill Road, where Eko will kick off the event with a short parade heading towards Cobholm Primary School field.

The event is FREE.

Throwback to our Funding the Future event back in January!

The 2024 State of the Norfolk VCSE Sector Survey showed that securing funding was the highest priority and also a serious concern for local organisations. ⚠️

That's how the idea for Funding the Future was born - an all-day event where charities, social enterprises and community groups could hear from industry experts and learn from each other about how to address their concerns.

Our second Funding the Future event in January was attended by people from over 60 local organisations.

Our State of the Norfolk VCSE Sector Survey is open again and we need as many responses as possible, so that we can bring local organisations more events like this, or any other support that would help them overcome their challenges.

If you work or volunteer for a local charity, social enterprise or community group, please complete the survey and let us know what your current priorities are and what would help your organisation. 🙏

Do you work or volunteer for a charity, social enterprise or a community group? What aspirations do you have for your organisation? What barriers are in your way?

We've launched the State of the Norfolk VCSE Sector Survey to find out what support local organisations need. We want to hear from large charities as well as the smallest community groups.

Please take a few minutes to respond to the survey and share it with your colleagues and volunteers! 🙏

Two years ago, 18% of charities and social enterprises said they were working towards becoming a Living Wage employer.

Has that changed? Is your organisation one of them? Or has the picture shifted altogether? 🤔

Take a few minutes to complete the State of the Norfolk VCSE Survey and help us build an up-to-date picture of our sector. Your response will help shape future support and advocacy for Norfolk's VCSE organisations.

Do you work or volunteer for a charity, social enterprise or a community group? Then we would love to know your thoughts! 🤔

The survey closes at 5pm on Monday 14th September.

We’re looking back at some of the ways we celebrated our amazing volunteers earlier this year. 💙

From volunteer meet-ups and social events to music, tea and cake, and time spent together across our services, it was a wonderful opportunity to say thank you to the people who give their time to support patients, families, colleagues and local communities.

Our volunteers bring kindness, compassion and dedication to everything they do, and their contribution makes a real difference every day.

A heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers across our Trust and to the organisations and community groups who help support and celebrate them.

Could you spare 2–3 hours a week to help keep NHS services running smoothly in Thetford?

We’re looking for a practical, organised volunteer to help keep essential equipment stocked and tidy for a local community nursing team.

You won’t need any medical experience or qualifications. You’ll simply help with tasks such as putting away supplies, keeping the stockroom organised and supporting stock takes. This will ensure that clinical staff can focus on the jobs only they are qualified for.

Training is provided, expenses can be reimbursed and the role takes place on a Monday or Friday morning.

A small amount of your time could make a real difference to the NHS staff supporting people in their own homes.

Training makes your volunteering even better. 🙌

Research shows that volunteers who complete their training feel more confident in their roles. But quite often they would welcome even more opportunities for additional training.

If you feel the same, or you simply think there are areas where you would benefit from more training, we have some good news for you 🤗 Our Get InVOLved Skills platform can help you find in-person or online training in just a few clicks. Have a look ⤵️
