Protect the Heart of Our Village – Your Village Hall Needs You!
Hevingham Village Hall has been the backdrop for our local community group activities, birthday parties, weddings, wakes and community gatherings since its opening in the year 2000. But to keep the doors open, we urgently need new volunteers to become Trustees who want to help promote the village hall and are willing to learn the various roles of the management committee. The present management team are well established and not going anywhere for the moment. However, with so few Trustees and no contingency to fall back on, our village risks losing its primary community hub should circumstances change in the future.
Whether you are new to the village, recently retired or just looking to become more involved, we’d like to hear from you.
Initially your involvement could be as little as one hour every three months. Our management team spends on average no more than a couple of hours each month. It would be great to have volunteers prepared to shadow each role for the future.
Chair & Vice-Chair: Preside over meetings (4 times a year), maintain and help shape the future of the hall.
Treasurer: Manage the bank account, track expenses, and oversee basic financial budgeting. Prepare end of year accounts.
Secretary: Keep us organised by preparing agendas and taking minutes at meetings.
Looking for a part-time role with an honorarium?
We will also require a volunteer able to step into the role of a Booking Clerk to manage hall hires, coordinate keys, and liaise with community groups. Because this role requires a steady weekly time commitment, it attracts an annual honorarium to compensate you for your time.
How can I find out more?
Whether you have professional skills to offer or simply care about our community, we want to hear from you. Contact me by personal message on Hevingham People (or by email: [email protected] for an informal chat.
