This week our usual distribution site outside City Hall will be used instead by The Common Lot performing their free play "On the Huh - 900 years of Norwich Market".

For us this means that food will be given out from Pottergate Green (just in front of Grosvenor Chip Shop) on Wednesday 22nd.

"On the Huh" will be performed from tomorrow (21st) until Sunday (26th) - so do try to get down to see it if you can!

We have some thanks, support and good wishes to share today.

Thanks to our lovely friends over at Norwich Muslim Centre , who have been helping us by letting us store our kit and pack into our drivers cars at the current mosque.

They are seeking planning permission for their new mosque site. This has been featured as a story in the EDP 24 today, so if you could pop over and share some positive messages to support their application that really would be wonderful.

We are all members of the Norwich community and helping each other out really is what makes it a great place be!

Anyone else feeling like one shower a day isn't enough right now? 👋

This week has seen Norwich City Council activate the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP). This means adding some extra support for the city's rough sleepers. Extra water is provided and some shelter is available. We're lucky to live in a city that has resources for this protocol, but that doesn't mean our homeless are fully catered for - especially in this heat.

Starting off this week with a peek into what it looks like cooking for one of our food runs.

It’s easier than you might think. Just bring along 15 meals, of anything you like!

Do you have a dish you cook all the time, or a fantastic secret recipe you love to share? Are you a baker that never knows what to do with all the cake?

We really need more cooks on rotation - no obligation for any amount of days required. Just get in touch if this sounds like something you would like to try.

This week is a landmark one for us for two reasons.

Firstly, the wonderful Harry is stepping back from the management of FTP and the community team is taking over. The hard work and commitment to care they’ve put in over the years is so hugely appreciated by the service users in Norwich, as well as by the volunteers who have been welcomed and supported by their steady presence. Thank you Harry, we’ll all miss you!

Secondly, the UK government has today repealed the 1824 vagrancy act - meaning that it is no longer a crime to be homeless in this country. This marks a significant shift towards understanding and support for people who find themselves in this vulnerable situation.
