Full-Time Handyman / Property Maintenance Operative

We are a registered charity providing supported accommodation across Norfolk and are looking for a reliable, practical and self-motivated Full-Time Handyman / Property Maintenance Operative to join our team.
This is a varied role maintaining our supported accommodation properties to ensure they remain safe, well-presented and comfortable for the people we support.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of property maintenance tasks, including:
* General repairs and maintenance
* Basic plumbing, carpentry and decorating
* Minor electrical repairs (where appropriate)
* Garden and external maintenance
* Preparing properties for new occupants
* Identifying maintenance issues and recommending solutions
* Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety requirements
* Setting up and furnishing properties ready for occupation
Please note that this is a physically active role and will involve lifting and carrying furniture and other household items when setting up and preparing properties. Candidates should therefore be comfortable carrying out manual handling tasks safely.
You’ll work across multiple properties in locations including Harleston, Diss, Costessey, Ditchingham and Dereham, travelling between sites in a company van.
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will:
* Hold a full, valid UK driving licence and be a confident van driver.
* Have reasonable experience in general property maintenance or a similar handyman role.
* Be able to work independently and use their own initiative when lone working.
* Be organised, dependable and able to manage their workload effectively.
* Be a strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
* Take pride in delivering high-quality work and excellent service.
* Be physically fit and comfortable undertaking manual handling as part of the role.
* Be respectful and professional when working in homes occupied by vulnerable adults.
