We are absolutely blown away to announce that together we’ve raised an incredible £8,117.82 for our chosen charities so far! ❤️

From everyone who bought a ticket, entered the raffle, showed a vehicle, donated, volunteered their time, sponsored the event, or simply came along to support us — thank you.

I often post the photos you kindly send to me, but I tend to keep the words side of things to myself. That said, I found this list of “things British people say visiting a classic car show” - sent to me by the lovely Alan Simpson - so funny I just had to post it. Thank you, Alan, for giving me the green light to do so. I’ll soon be out of a job!

Things British people like to say at a classic car show, by Alan Simpson:

1. Princess Anne had one of those, you know?
2. Is it Reliant Robin or Robin Reliant?
3. Look at all that chrome. I bet it's a nightmare to clean.
4. Hope it doesn't rain.
5. Aww remember chokes? My gran used to pull hers out and hang her handbag on it.
6. Dad had one of those 40 years ago and it's gone rusty in the same places.
7. Gosh they're so small compared to modern cars.
8. I think we saw that one last year too.
9. Do you think he spent 3 years restoring it to escape from his wife?
10. I bought one of those in 1993 for £400 and look what they go for now. Wish I'd hung on to it.
11. Blimey. When was the last time you saw one of those?
12. I wouldn't have a clue how to drive that.
13. Is that classed as a classic now? Ooh that makes me feel old.
14. That must have been imported. It never would have survived that well all these years in the British climate.
15. I remember the factory they built those in. It's a business park and houses now.
16. £7 for a bacon roll???
17. What's his name used to drive one of those in that TV programme. You know. That one set in Yorkshire. What was it called again?
18. What time is that guy you wanted to see on the stage?
19. Yeah we got parked really easily. I thought we might be cutting it a bit fine but they squeezed us in.
