Norwich and Norfolk OCD Support Group

Norwich and Norfolk OCD Support Group We are a friendly, specialised support group in the heart of Norwich, helping people to understand, gain knowledge, support each other and tackle their OCD.

The Norfolk and Norwich OCD Support Group was set up by professional therapist Geraldine Scott 13 years ago and has grown from strength to strength ever since. We meet on the first Tuesday evening of the month at The Assembly House, in the heart of Norwich city centre where we are always positive, practical and constructive. We welcome new and existing members every month which has lead to us now

being the largest OCD support group in the UK! We are also the first group to offer a tiered structure approach consisting of group discussion, psychoeducation and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). The group is professionally led, open, friendly, discreet and good humour is always shared amongst our members. Our group discussions are very informative and quite frequently new discoveries relating to OCD are made. Psychoeducational sessions are offered and these can cover topics such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), the various categories of OCD, the Conscious Mind versus the Subconscious Mind, Communication Skills, Goal Setting, Assertiveness and Raising Self-Esteem to name a few. The group does not provide treatment; it offers support in a non-judgmental, confidential environment and an opportunity to share/communicate knowledge and personal experiences. The group also welcomes carers and family members who want to gain a better understanding of this anxiety disorder and be encouraged. We receive exceptional feedback from those that have attended our meetings and some members have been regular attendees for several years. The group runs on an entirely voluntary basis enabling everyone suffering from OCD to access help that can be life changing. New members are always welcome. Please get in contact using the details below before attending your first meeting as this will allow us to accommodate everyone and welcome you. The Norwich OCD Group for Carers and Sufferers operates an equal opportunities policy. Our group treats all volunteers, members and potential members fairly. People can gain access to our support group by a referral from a GP or Mental Health Professional or via the contact details on this website. It is our policy to provide equality to all, irrespective of gender, marital or civil partnership status, having or not having dependants, religious belief or political opinion, race, disability and age. We are opposed to all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination.
