Scouts prepares young people with skills for life – we’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience.

We bring together young people aged from 4 - 18, and adult volunteers, from East Norfolk and encourage them to join the adventure with us! East Norfolk District Scouts has Scout Groups currently meeting within the following towns & villages: Acle, Freethorpe, Belton, Bradwell, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, Caister, Martham.

Scouting is for boys & girls, and young people meet together in their age-specific sections: Squirrels (4-6), Beavers (6-8), Cubs (8-10.5), Scouts (10.5-14), and Explorers (14-18).

5 Explorers from East Norfolk completed their Duke of Edinburgh Silver practice expedition this weekend. They camped for two nights and walked for 2 days carrying all of their kit with them. Starting on the seafront at Sheringham, they walked the Norfolk Coastal path to Cromer, negotiating the Beeston Bump! From Cromer they followed Weavers Way to Blickling Hall. It was a warm weekend and they showed incredible resilience and a great sense of humour as they completed the route more or less to time and without any major detours. Along the way they spoke to people they met, finding out where they came from, about their pets and why they were out walking too. We are extremely proud of how well they have done and look forward to spending time with them again in a months time when they are due to take part in the even more challenging Silver Qualifying expedition. Well done all.

A few pictures from today's St. George's celebration that took place at Caister Lifeboat Station, thank you for hosting us all. Our young people got to explore the Station and took part in several games and activities as well as participating in a beach clean.

We would like to say a big congratulations to Harry, Jacob, Maya, Jessica and Luke, 5 Explorers from East Norfolk. They have been presented with their certificates and badges tonight after completing their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. As well as an expedition, they have spent time volunteering, taking part in physical activity and improving a skill. Well done for your hard work and commitment to complete the award.
