The UK Health Security Agency has issued an amber Heat-Health Alert for the East of England, which is in place until 9pm on Sunday 12 July.

Please look out for people who may struggle to keep cool during the hot weather. Older people, young children, and those with long-term health conditions may need extra support.

🚑🌡️ Ambulance services are under increasing pressure as extreme heat fuels record demand for healthcare.

UNISON is calling for summer crisis plans to protect staff and patients during heatwaves.

As UNISON national ambulance officer Sharan Bandesha said: "Ambulance trusts plan extensively for winter pressures. It's time summer is treated with the same level of urgency."
