Educating young people about the importance of healthy relationships is a vital part of our work. Our Healthy Relationships team work closely with education settings across the county to highlight what healthy relationships look like and why they are important.

This service has already had a big impact, which has been recognised with a nomination for a Norfolk County Council Flourish award!

Domestic abuse is sadly all too prevalent across our society. Not only does this have an impact on those experiencing domestic abuse, but it also has a significant impact on the economy too.

Government research has broken down the estimated cost of domestic abuse, highlighting the importance of early intervention and prevention, as well as investing in support services.

Have you noticed messaging around economic abuse in your banking app or in your local branch?

This is part of the next phase of the government’s Enough campaign and aims to improve knowledge around economic abuse and the different forms that this can take.

Research conducted by the government found that 1 in 5 young men did not consider controlling someone’s spending to be abuse.

Changing attitudes and behaviours is a key part of tackling violence against women and girls and it is important to use every resource available to improve public knowledge.

The Enough Campaign – a government led awareness campaign – has an excellent quiz tool on their website, helping people to spot when behaviours cross the line.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day – an important worldwide campaign encouraging conversation around su***de and campaigning for better support services to prevent su***des.

There are several links between domestic abuse and su***de, with statistics now showing that the number of domestic abuse related su***des has surpassed the number of domestic abuse homicides. This is why it is vital to continue to raise awareness of the impact that domestic abuse has on those that experience it, as well as highlighting the support that is available.
