A huge thank you to MAP Youth Charity for another fantastic Positive Minds event at The Forum! We had a great time chatting with young people throughout the day about healthy relationships and enjoying activities with our spinning wheel, which was a big hit.

Excited about pooling our thinking, resources and insights to ensure survivor voices are rightly amplified to create a safer, supportive and kinder society for all.

Today our CEO, Duncan Craig OBE and our Data & Information Manager, Sam Jennings, spent the day with the CEOs and Data/Operations Leaders from Safeline, Survivors In Transition, STARS Dorset, Sue Lambert Trust, RSVP West Midlands and Survive York (the team at First Light were on their well earned jollys so we can forgive them can't we) for what sounds like an amazingly rich discussion on working together; to discuss the output of their collective data project; and to pool knowledge, intel and resources for the betterment of all survivors.

Surely it's a given that 16 heads are better than one!

Brave Futures Leeway Domestic Violence and Abuse Services The One to one Project Daisy Programme

Norfolk charities have called on the county's next police and crime commissioner to make victims of domestic abuse a priority.

Together, our voices are stronger.

Norfolk Community Law Service has joined Sue Lambert Trust, Leeway Domestic Violence and Abuse Services, Brave Futures, Daisy Programme and the One to One Project in publishing an open letter ahead of Norfolk's Police and Crime Commissioner election tomorrow.

Every day, specialist organisations across Norfolk support adults, children and families affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. At NCLS alone, we helped more than 500 domestic abuse victims in 2025/26 through free legal advice and support.

Sustainable funding is essential if we are to continue helping survivors access justice, safety and the support they deserve.

We are encouraging voters to consider the needs of victims and survivors when they cast their vote.

A final message from us before polling day.

As Norfolk prepares to vote for the next PCC on 16 July, we are asking:

• How will the PCC candidates ensure victims and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence receive the support they need?
• How will they demonstrate that survivors' lives matter?
• And how will they show they understand that specialist, robust, well-funded support leads to survivors feeling more confident to report the crime, and that they WILL be believed?

The newly elected Norfolk PCC will hold the power to allocate central government grants (such as those from the Ministry of Justice) to commission local support services for victims of crime.

And that is why we are calling on voters and our supporters to give careful consideration to who gets their vote.

The need for our specialist support continues to grow.

1 in 12 people living in Norfolk will experience sexual violence or abuse at some point in their lifetime. Yet funding is diminishing.

Our local organisations and charities in Norfolk continue to do everything they can to continue supporting survivors while funding is being reduced or withdrawn, at a time of rising demand.

• Norfolk Community Law Service saw a 9% increase in domestic abuse-related clients • Leeway supported 14,551 people in the last year • The Daisy Programme has reported a 46% increase in referrals

And at Sue Lambert Trust, we continue to receive up to 90 new referrals for our support every month.

Despite this growing need, earlier this year, the former PCC, Sarah Taylor, cut our funding by 73%.

Ahead of the Norfolk PCC by-election, we're calling on voters to ask candidates how they will support survivors and hold perpetrators to account.

Now, there's an opportunity to put survivors first.
