🚗💬 NADDIA Update on Driving Test Waiting Times 🛑

While the Northwich & District Driving Instructors Association (NADDIA) is pleased to hear of improvements in driving test waiting times at our local centre, and we look forward to seeing these improvements for our students, we feel that the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) still has a long way to go to properly support Northwich residents and learner drivers.

While we welcome the reduced waiting time in August, most likely due to examiners working overtime, the overall trend is still 24 weeks. Shorter waits are a step in the right direction, but local learners and instructors need a more reliable and sustained system to clear the backlog and get people on the road without unnecessary stress.

You can read more about the recent waiting time updates at the Northwich test centre here:

What are your thoughts on current test availability? Let us know in the comments below. 👇

The average wait was around 16 weeks in August of this year in comparison to around 24 weeks in August of last year.

📢 Important update for local learner drivers! 🚗💨

Starting 1 October, the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency DVSA is changing the rules on how you can swap driving test dates with another candidate to make the process easier and less stressful.

Here is what you need to know:

✅ No need to call at the same time: You no longer need to be on the phone to the DVSA at the exact same moment as the person you're swapping with.

📞 First call: The first learner calls the DVSA to request the swap.

📞 Second call: The second learner calls the DVSA on the same working day to confirm it.

As long as both calls are made on the same working day, the DVSA will process the swap.
