We're celebrating a big year in 2026...60 years since the decision was made that the Cotswolds was so beautiful, and special, and valuable that it should be protected for the benefit of us all. And we want to celebrate that with everyone - so you're all invited to a party on 15th August. There'll be cake, an exhibition, a little live music, and a screening of the magical 'Cotswolds: Field & Folk' film - just released this summer. Who's in?! Tickets are available now and selling fast: https://boxoffice.cheltladiescollege.org/events/160343

We can't wait to see you there!

Earlier this month, our Grants and Youth panel met to assess recent applications for Caring for the Cotswolds grants. Five Year 12 students from The Cotswold School (pictured) helped us allocate £20,000 to five new projects. This brings our total amount awarded this year to an astonishing £70,179. Our thanks to everyone who supports the scheme - business members, funders, and visitors to the area.

Supported projects this time include Longfield Hospice who will be restoring and enhancing their beautiful hospice gardens and improving access for patients and visitors (pictured); FWAG SouthWest who are establishing an outdoor learning space for ongoing community engagement, and delivering practical workshops for the public focused on nature-friendly food growing, as well as shared harvest activities for residents from deprived communities (pictured); a community interpretation board in Stroud's Slade Ward which has been co-created with the community and Stroud Town Council; and a grant for Dialect - supporting rural writers to support a writer in residence who will help enrich public understanding of seasonal change, biodiversity, land practices, and the deep stories of the Cotswolds.

A fascinating range of projects, and we can't wait to see how each one develops over the coming weeks and months.

Our next application window closes on 4th October - so if you'd like to apply for a little extra support for your project, please do check the details on our website.

Looking forward to the press preview of Cotswolds: Field & Folk on 3rd July - and then the screenings tour across the summer which will follow!

As Cotswolds: Field & Folk begins its summer screening tour, we're inviting members of the press to be among the first audiences to experience the film.

Over the past two years, we've travelled across the Cotswolds meeting the farmers, conservationists, historians and local communities who help shape and care for this extraordinary landscape. The result is a feature documentary that celebrates the people behind the views and explores the connection between land, heritage and community.

We're holding a limited number of seats at selected screenings for journalists, reviewers, broadcasters, bloggers and media outlets who would like to cover the film, attend a screening, or arrange an interview with the filmmakers.
If you're interested in joining us and getting a first look at Field & Folk, we'd love to hear from you.

BIG NEWS! We have just announced two paid work placements for this summer. If you're aged 18 - 25, and stuck in the vicious cycle of looking for a role, but not yet having any experience, these short placements could be ideal - especially if you're aiming for a career in conservation! The placements will be in an area of woodland, and you'll be doing physically demanding work, so you'll need a proficient level of fitness and mobility. You don't have to have any experience though - we'll teach you what you need for the week. What we're looking for is enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. If that sounds like you, check the Vacancies page on our website at www.cotswolds-nl.org.uk. The first placement is 29 June - 3 July. Details of the second week are coming soon.
