On a recent mission to in a rural village, our Co-Founder met a beautiful young girl living with Down syndrome. This moment was more than a visit, it was an important step in understanding how we can assess and support her future development with care and dignity.

At the International Disability Organisation, we believe that every child deserves to be seen, supported, and given a chance to thrive, regardless of ability or background.

This mission marks the beginning of a long-term journey to walk alongside her and her family, ensuring she has access to the resources, love, and support she needs to grow confidently into her future.

🖤 Mobility is Freedom | IDO Community Support

Our team had the privilege of meeting a blind villager in need of mobility support. In response, we were honoured to provide him with a white cane, a simple but powerful tool to help him move more independently through his daily life.

At the International Disability Organisation, we believe that inclusion begins with access and access begins with dignity, visibility, and the tools to live with greater autonomy.

This moment is a reminder that even the smallest act can bring light and freedom to someone’s world.

Before the bricks are laid and the doors open in Shamu Village, we paused to honour the heart behind it all our incredible Trustees.

In a spirit of unity and celebration, we hosted a barbecue gathering to reflect on how far we’ve come, and the powerful impact we are building together through the International Disability Organisation.

From sharing stories and laughs to envisioning the future of inclusive education and healthcare, this day reminded us: behind every great mission is a team of dedicated hearts and visionary minds.

📍 Breaking Ground in Shamu Village | International Disability Organisation

What was once untouched land is now the foundation of a vision.

We’re proud to share that we have officially cleared land in Shamu Village, Zimbabwe, the future site of our IDO Community School and Health Clinic. This project marks a vital step in our mission to bring inclusive education and accessible healthcare to underserved communities.
