Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for Open Door Housing & Support Foundation.

We are proud to officially launch our new website:

Open Door was created to provide compassionate, trauma-informed support for individuals and families rebuilding their lives — without shame and without judgement.

We know many people struggle silently with:
• Addiction & recovery
• Trauma
• Housing instability
• Family difficulties & family breakdown
• Isolation and hopelessness
• Living in or leaving a domestic abusive relationship
• Being misdiagnosed or undiagnosed
• Feeling like they do not fit into traditional recovery pathways or 12-step programmes
• Trying to find the right support and the right solution for their individual needs
• Leaving prison and returning to the same cycle without support
• Feeling let down by overstretched and under-staffed systems

At Open Door, we believe people deserve support that feels human, compassionate, and genuinely accessible.

We provide trauma-informed support, advocacy, and guidance from qualified professionals with lived experience.

We don’t just signpost and disappear.
We walk alongside people — with dignity, understanding, and without judgement. 💜

💜 A new name. A clear purpose.

We are now Open Door Housing & Support Foundation 1214706.

Housing remains a key part of what we do — but we also recognise that not everyone needs housing to need support.

Many people need help navigating systems, accessing the right services, and having someone alongside them during difficult times — and that’s where we come in.

We provide support that is consistent, respectful, and built around the individual — helping people find stability, navigate systems, and rebuild their lives safely.

We support individuals and families facing housing challenges, recovery, and domestic abuse — ensuring no one has to face it alone.

Because sometimes people don’t need everything fixed overnight…

They need someone to listen.
To understand.
To walk alongside them.

That’s what we’re here for.

We’re proud to share recent outcomes from our recovery and resettlement support programme:

• Garry has achieved 30 days sober 👏
• Two clients reached 6 months sobriety this week & have successfully completed all police and court requirements ✅
• Clients released from prison are attending 100% of probation, treatment and recovery appointments 🎉
• No client has reoffended since engaging with our service ❤️

We take it one day at a time — staying clean & sober 💪 Recovery is more than compliance ✅

• Families are rebuilding relationships and reconnecting
• Clients support each other daily — creating positive peer accountability
• People are engaging in healthy social activities that build confidence, routine and belonging

This is not accidental. It is structured, practical and consistent support.

Stable relationships.
Pro-social activity.
Routine and accountability.

These protective factors reduce reoffending and strengthen long-term recovery.

Recovery looks like structure.
Recovery feels like being heard, supported and seen.
