🚨 INTRODUCING THE LINGS WATCH MOBILE PANIC ALARM SYSTEM 🚨

This video explains how the Lings Watch mobile panic alarm works, how to create your Ajax account and how to add a panic button directly to your phone’s home screen.

The system uses the free Ajax Security System app and allows participating Lings Watch members to raise an alert if they feel unsafe or need to make the group aware of an incident.

When activated, the alarm can:

β€’ Send a critical alert to participating Lings Watch users
β€’ Record the time the alarm was activated
β€’ Share the phone’s location coordinates, where location permission is enabled
β€’ Allow other members to see where the alarm was raised

The purpose is to make the community aware and help the appropriate assistance reach the person who raised the alarm.

It is not an invitation to travel to the location, confront anyone or place yourself in danger.

Because the panic alarm operates through the mobile app, it is not restricted by the local radio range of the Lings Watch Hub. It can be activated anywhere the phone has a suitable mobile-data or Wi-Fi connection.

⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

The system is currently community-alerted and is not monitored by a professional control room.

It does not automatically contact the police and must never replace calling 999.

If you or somebody else is in immediate or life-threatening danger, call 999 directly whenever it is safe to do so.

πŸ“± HOW TO JOIN

1. Download the Ajax Security System app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

2. Create your own account using your personal mobile number and email address.

3. Allow notifications so you can receive Lings Watch alerts.

4. Allow location access if you want your phone to provide its location when you activate the panic alarm.

5. Never give your password or verification codes to anybody, including me.

6. Once your account is ready, provide the registered email address privately so I can invite you to the Lings Watch space.

Please do not post your home address, telephone number, email address or personal security information in the Facebook comments.

🏠 HOME-SCREEN PANIC BUTTON

The video also demonstrates how Android users can add an Ajax panic widget directly to their home screen.

This provides much faster access to the alarm without having to open the app and navigate through its menus.

Depending on your settings, you may be required to press and hold or confirm the alarm to help prevent accidental activation.

Please only use the panic alarm when you genuinely need to make the group aware of an incident.

If you activate it accidentally, immediately post in the Lings Watch WhatsApp group to confirm that it was a false alarm.

If the system receives enough genuine interest, professional control-room monitoring may be considered in the future. Full information about how that service would operate would be provided before anything was introduced.

This video focuses specifically on the mobile panic alarm. Separate videos will explain the physical security devices and the wider Lings Watch project.

Thank you for watching. Please share the video with local residents who may be interested in joining.

🀝 Lings Watch β€” Volunteers Needed

We are looking for local residents who may be willing to help with Lings Watch.

Not everyone in the area uses Facebook, and some residents may not be confident using online forms, phones or computers. We also have many older residents and people whose first language is not English.

To make this work properly, we need help reaching people face to face.

We are looking for volunteers who may be able to help with things like:

- knocking on doors in pairs
- explaining what Lings Watch is
- helping residents fill in forms
- handing out simple information leaflets
- helping older residents report fly-tipping or local problems
- helping neighbours who do not use Facebook
- identifying streets with repeated issues
- finding people with CCTV or doorbell cameras
- finding people interested in future monitored CCTV
- helping translate or explain things clearly where possible

This is not about confrontation, patrols or accusing people.

It is about helping residents report problems properly, gather information safely, and build a clearer picture of fly-tipping, vehicle crime, antisocial behaviour and local safety concerns in the Lings area.

If you would be willing to help, even just on your own street, please fill in the volunteer/contact form here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdlZBVb7yyjuNmLq3jW-LHJWmLThZei3YeYKT2VjrWq3xLPVQ/viewform

You do not have to commit to anything big. Even helping speak to a few neighbours could make a difference.

Thank you.

πŸ“Œ START HERE β€” Lings Watch Forms

Welcome to Lings Watch.

This page has been set up to help residents in the Lings area report local problems in a more organised way.

This can help us:

- understand repeat problem areas
- report issues more clearly
- support requests to the council, police or councillors
- find CCTV or witnesses faster after an incident
- build evidence for fly-tipping, vehicle crime and antisocial behaviour
- look at whether community CCTV monitoring may be useful in the future

Please use the correct form below.

For non-emergency crime, please report it to police online or by calling 101.

For fly-tipping, please also report it to the council where needed.

Please do not post faces, number plates, private addresses or accusations publicly in the comments. Use the forms instead so information can be handled properly.

Thank you for helping keep Lings cleaner, safer and better organised.

πŸ“ Lings Watch β€” Witness Statement Form

If you saw something happen in the Lings area, you can use this form to give a witness statement:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScLb9TVdh4s42BpPOffhOjsT0BgqoQJSsAOu-BuCB922DW7jg/viewform

This form is for when you saw or heard something connected to:

- fly-tipping
- vehicle crime
- attempted theft
- suspicious activity
- antisocial behaviour
- criminal damage
- people or vehicles involved in an incident

You do not need to be 100% sure about everything. Just report what you saw, heard, or noticed as clearly and honestly as possible.

Useful details include:

- date and time
- exact location
- what happened
- what direction people or vehicles went
- vehicle registration, if known
- clothing or descriptions
- whether anyone else saw it
- whether CCTV may be nearby

Why is this useful?

Witness information can help connect reports together. Sometimes one person sees part of an incident, another person has CCTV, and another person finds evidence later. Keeping statements organised helps us build a clearer picture.

Please keep your statement factual. Do not guess, exaggerate, or publicly accuse people in the Facebook group.

If a crime is happening now or someone is in danger, call 999 first.

Thank you.

πŸ’‘ Lings Watch β€” Street Weak Spot / Environmental Risk Form

If you know of a place in the Lings area that feels unsafe, poorly lit, neglected, or regularly used for fly-tipping or antisocial behaviour, please report it here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSePEPR8otGaRXpT00qgF_I9qM69lBw_-2_6OhVxvoFPXwiSMQ/viewform

This form is for things like:

- broken street lights
- dark alleyways
- overgrown paths or bushes
- fly-tipping hotspots
- damaged fences or gates
- abandoned areas
- unsafe paths
- hidden corners where people gather
- places where cars or homes are repeatedly targeted
- areas where CCTV or better lighting may help

Why is this useful?

Some problems keep happening because the area makes it easy. Poor lighting, hidden spaces, blocked views, and neglected land can all make crime, dumping and antisocial behaviour more likely.

By collecting this information properly, we can:

- identify local weak spots
- build a map of problem areas
- contact the council or councillors with clear evidence
- request repairs, lighting, cleaning or prevention measures
- support future CCTV or monitoring proposals
- show that residents are reporting issues in an organised way

Please include photos if you have them, but only if it is safe to do so.

Thank you.

🀝 Lings Watch β€” Resident Contact & Volunteer Form

If you live in the Lings area and would like to stay involved with Lings Watch, please fill in this short form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdlZBVb7yyjuNmLq3jW-LHJWmLThZei3YeYKT2VjrWq3xLPVQ/viewform

This form helps us understand who is interested in helping or being kept informed.

You can use it to say if you would be happy to:

- receive updates
- report local issues
- help with admin
- help share information with neighbours
- act as a street contact
- support fly-tipping reports
- support future CCTV discussions
- help gather local evidence safely

You do not have to volunteer for anything if you do not want to. You can simply fill it in so we know you are interested in the project.

Why is this useful?

If we want cleaner and safer streets, we need organised local support. Having a contact list helps us communicate better, avoid confusion, and show councillors or the council that residents are working together properly.

Your details will not be posted publicly.

Thank you.

πŸ‘€ Lings Watch β€” Suspicious Activity Report

If you see something suspicious in the Lings area, you can report it here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfLvrnBaUB6H02h_hFwKkjKimeq4yPMyAGk6tMHrSP46YQjHQ/viewform

This form is for things like:

- people trying car doors
- someone looking into cars or gardens
- unknown vehicles driving slowly around the area
- people hanging around late at night
- possible drug dealing or antisocial behaviour
- repeated unusual activity in the same place
- anything that feels concerning but may not be an emergency

Why are we collecting this?

Small incidents can seem unimportant on their own, but when they happen repeatedly, they can show a pattern.

Using this form helps us record:

- dates and times
- locations
- descriptions
- vehicle details if seen
- whether CCTV may be nearby
- whether the same issue keeps happening

This can help us understand problem areas and raise concerns properly with police, councillors or the council.

Please do not confront anyone or put yourself at risk.

If a crime is happening now or someone is in danger, call 999.

For non-emergency crime, use 101 or report online.

Thank you.

πŸ“· Lings Watch β€” CCTV / Doorbell Camera Register

If you have CCTV, a video doorbell, dashcam footage from your driveway, or any camera that may cover part of the street, you can register it here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdkDiAUrmipkx6Kr5QyVRYqHx2GODwghrBQw-86uuDY6fWh9A/viewform

This does not mean Lings Watch will have access to your cameras.

The purpose is simply to know who may have useful footage if something happens nearby.

For example, if there is:

- fly-tipping
- car door trying
- vehicle theft
- suspicious activity
- antisocial behaviour
- criminal damage

we may be able to check which residents have cameras facing the right area and politely ask if they are willing to review or share relevant footage.

Why is this useful?

After an incident, evidence can disappear quickly because many systems only keep recordings for a limited time. A private CCTV register helps us know who to ask before footage is overwritten.

This can help us:

- find useful footage faster
- avoid asking every resident individually
- support police or council reports
- identify repeat problem areas
- build a better picture of local coverage

Your details will not be posted publicly. This is only to help organise community safety information properly.

Thank you.

πŸ“Ž Lings Watch β€” Evidence Upload Form

If you have photos, video, CCTV footage, doorbell camera footage, dashcam footage, or documents connected to an incident in the Lings area, please use this form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf6LU0I4rxuEyGZTvGZU2QFQjNXp4TdxNsKqIpyZqN7ewSxDg/viewform

This form is for uploading evidence linked to things like:

- fly-tipping
- vehicle crime
- attempted theft
- suspicious activity
- antisocial behaviour
- criminal damage
- CCTV footage
- witness photos or videos

Why is this useful?

Evidence often gets lost in comments, private messages, WhatsApp chats, or phone galleries. Using this form helps us keep evidence organised and linked to the correct report.

This can help us:

- find useful footage more quickly
- link evidence to the correct date, time and location
- support reports to police, council or councillors
- avoid important information getting lost
- build a clearer picture of repeat problems

Please do not upload anything publicly in the Facebook comments if it shows faces, number plates, addresses or private property. Use the form instead so it can be handled properly.

If the evidence relates to a report you have already submitted, please include the report reference or a short description so we can match it up.

Thank you.

🚨 Lings Watch β€” Incident Report Form

If something has happened in the Lings area, please use this form to report it to Lings Watch:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScIZ2cpS4pnSBaWYX0Ug119DmXPaVHnSRiQmpJs68HI7PHVjA/viewform

This form is for things like:

- attempted theft
- vehicle crime
- car doors being tried
- criminal damage
- antisocial behaviour
- suspicious people or vehicles
- threats or intimidation
- repeat nuisance behaviour
- other local safety concerns

Why are we collecting this?

When incidents are only mentioned in comments or group chats, the details can easily get lost. By using a form, we can keep a clearer record of what happened, where it happened, and whether there are repeat patterns.

This can help us:

- understand local problem areas
- collect better information for police or councillors
- see if the same streets are being targeted
- link incidents with possible CCTV or witnesses
- support future requests for extra help or prevention

Important:

If a crime is happening now, or someone is in danger, please call 999 first.

For non-emergency crime, please also report it to the police online or by calling 101, and add the crime reference number to the form if you have one.

Please keep reports factual and do not publicly accuse people in the group.

Thank you.
