****SCARECROW FESTIVAL UPDATE*****

Dear All
The Village Fireworks Society have discussed the news that Storm Austen will descend on us over the weekend with gusts of wind in excess of 45mph and rain
The errection of gazebos, games etc will be impossible, scarecrows are likely to be destroyed and people will probably not be inclined- as a result to attend a great event.
There is also a Health and Safety concern for encouraging people to walk round our villages when there is a high chance of debris and trees possibly blowing down or around.
For the above reasons we have reluctantly decided to postpone the event for one week

This means:

The event will take place on 31st October
Start at 10.00am until 14.00pm
Last voting entries for competition 14.30pm
Announcements for winners 15.00pm to 15.30pm

This will allow time to carry on Halloween celebrations later

We appreciate that this is not what any of us wanted to do but we must of course balance the risks and success of this great event

We, like you, are very disappointed in having to make this decision.

Chairman
