In Music In Media In Music In Media is a Northampton-based creative education social enterprise and home of the MUCM Creative Training Academy.

Take a look inside our MU Creative Space at our MUCM Alternative Provision.

Designed for secondary school-age young people who may benefit from a smaller, more personalised and practical approach to learning.

Through Music, Media, Digital Technology and Creativity, learners can develop practical and vocational skills while working towards greater engagement and their next steps.

In this video, you can see some of our sessions in action, hear from members of the In Music In Media team and hear the perspective of a school that has referred young people to our provision.

As the new academic year gets underway, we currently have a few 2026/27 placements available.

If you support a young person who you think could benefit from MUCM, we'd be happy to discuss their needs or arrange for you to visit the centre.

2026/27 Alternative Provision Places Available

In Music In Media through our MUCM Training Academy, provides specialist creative vocational and re-engagement provision for secondary school-age learners who may struggle to engage within mainstream education.

Using music, media, digital technology and creativity, learners have the opportunity to develop practical skills in areas including Music Production, Recording and Songwriting, DJing, Film, Podcasting, Graphics, Digital Media and Social Media Content Creation.

Our provision may be particularly suitable for young people who respond better to practical learning, are experiencing difficulties engaging with mainstream education, or would benefit from a smaller and more personalised learning environment.

We are currently welcoming referrals for 2026/27 placements.

If you currently support a young person who may benefit from this type of provision, please make a referral and we will be happy to discuss their needs further or arrange for you to visit the centre.

...... The return of the Musically Unorthodox Conference!

Following the massive success of last year, we are bringing everyone back together and It’s completely FREE!!, thanks to funding from Youth Music.

We are also collaborating with Pathways Into Music

This isn’t your typical industry event where people just network. We are bringing young people, educators, industry pros, and local authorities into one room to break down the barriers facing the next generation of talent, specifically those who are marginalised or NEET (not in education, employment, or training).
