Northampton Transport Heritage

Northampton Transport Heritage NTH preserves vehicles and articles relating to transport services in Northamptonshire.

NTH was formed by a group of transport enthusiasts out of the 154 Preservation Society; we are now caring for and running VV 9146, ANH 154, YBD 201, JVV 267G, L381 NBD, and MV02 VBZ. We also own DNH 197 with the intention to restore her to her former glory. We also have a share in H654 VVV and actively use this vehicle on NTH trips and evemts. Our aim is to preserve these vehicles and give them a

secure future, raising funds to continue running restorations of 146, 154, 267 and 66334, and a full restoration of 197. However, NTH is not confined to just running these vehicles, we aim to preserve and promote all aspects of Northampton and the shire's transport heritage, including transport buildings and documents. Eventually, we hope to find premises to create a transport museum for Northamptonshire. We encourage interest in our vehicles from individuals, organisations, schools and businesses who wish to find out more about these wonderful icons of Northampton's past. We aim to make them relevant, educational and accessible to the general public and bring the past into the future. Producing a quarterly newsletter, members are kept informed of trips that are planned, and through our web interfaces, everyone is made welcome to attend events we are attending and to take a part in supporting us, appreciating the heritage we preserve, or simply to take a trip down memory lane. We are now a registered Charity, donations and support are appreciated in keeping the group running.

Regrettably we have had to cancel our visit to Quorn Heritage Bus and Train Event on Sunday 17th May 2026 due to non-availability of a suitable vehicle.

Also that West Northamptonshire Council Museum Services have cancelled their Transport Day at Abington Park on Saturday 20th June 2026 due to a lack of vehicle entrants and therefore we will not be operating buses on that day.

A wet, but wonderful, afternoon on the Market Square which didnt stop many townsfolk coming out to enjoy the attractions provided alongside the Christmas lights switch on.

A lovely afternoon that saw our 1947 built Northampton Corporation Daimler CVG6 receive many interested visitors including two sittings of excited children who had the story "t'was the Night Before Christmas" read to them by the wonderful folk of The Wild Tribe.

Well done to the team at Northampton Town Council for putting on another great, free event that provided entertainment and still drew a great crowd despite the weather!
