Tickets are now on general sale for East Harlsey’s ‘Proms in the Village’ 2026 and we’re delighted to have this year’s event sponsored by Whitegates Nursery Ltd.

‘That 80s Band’ return with hits from the decade of mullets and curly perms, Claire Louise will be singing 50s/60s vintage tracks, Northallerton Theatre Group are perfect their ‘Show Songs’ repertoire and finally we’ll have flag waving and Proms classics from The Silverwood Band.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable Live-in Caretaker & Grounds Person to help keep our beloved hall and grounds clean, welcoming, and beautifully maintained .

✨ Key Details:
• Hours: Part-time, averaging 10 hours per week across the year, peaking during busy summer event months and scaling down in the winter.
• Accommodation Included: This role comes with a tied accommodation cottage attached to the village hall (subject to a service occupancy agreement). Perfect for easily managing evening locking up!
• Who it suits: Ideal for either a flexible individual or a couple looking to share responsibilities.

💼 Responsibilities Include:
• Preparing the hall for weekly classes, community events, and private hires (weddings, parties).
• Managing access (unlocking/locking up) and nightly security checks.
• Maintaining indoor cleanliness (hall, kitchen, and toilets).
• Outdoor groundskeeping, including regular grass cutting and pathway care.

📋 What We’re Looking For:
• Someone friendly, dependable, and proud of their work.
• Experience in cleaning, groundskeeping, or customer-facing roles is preferred.
• Ability to manage split hours (mornings, evenings, weekends).
• Applicants must possess the legal right to work in the UK.
