Wakefield’s Water Safety Group & West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are raising awareness through a programme of free, practical demonstrations at water-side locations across the district. Come along and learn how to use a throwline, the effects of cold-water shock and how to do CPR.

We had the pleasure of attending the Scout Jamboree fundraiser at All Saints Church. Normanton on Friday night. And what a fantastic evening it was! 🎶🍰

There were delicious homemade bakes (we love cake!), beautiful singing and amazing performances by Castleford Young Musicians, all helping to raise funds for four incredible Scouts/Explorers who have been selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree 2027, an absolutely massive achievement and honour for them all.

There is also a raffle taking place with the chance to win a gliding experience. Tickets can be purchased via the link below, and donations are also very welcome to help the young people reach their fundraising goals.

We wish them every success in raising the funds needed for what will no doubt be a once in a lifetime experience.

And if you happen to spot talented singer Theo busking in Pontefract, please do stop, listen and donate if you can - every donation really does help! 💙
