Help Save Our Village Hall

Our village hall is at the heart of our community. It provides a home for local events, exercise classes, social gatherings, and activities that bring people together throughout the year.
Unfortunately, we are facing a serious challenge. Several committee members are stepping down, and unless new volunteers come forward to join the committee – particularly someone willing to take on the role of Treasurer – the hall will be forced to close temporarily.

This isn't simply a matter of finding extra help. Legally, the hall cannot continue to operate without a properly constituted committee. Without new committee members, our much-loved events, classes, and community activities will have to stop until the vacancies are filled.

We know many people value the hall and the opportunities it provides. If you have ever attended an event, joined a class, hired the hall, or simply appreciate having this wonderful community space available, now is the time to help secure its future.

Please don't be put off if you've never served on a committee before. We are a friendly, supportive team and will help you every step of the way. The role is far less daunting than it sounds, and we promise there will be plenty of laughter along the way. New ideas and fresh faces are always welcome.

In particular, we urgently need a Treasurer, but we would also love to hear from anyone interested in joining the committee in any capacity.

The future of our village hall depends on local people stepping forward. If you can spare a little time and would like to help keep this valuable community asset open and thriving, please get in touch.

Together, we can ensure that our village hall continues to be a place where our community can meet, learn, exercise, celebrate, and connect for years to come.

Hello everybody. Firstly a massive thank you to everyone who supports the village hall and the events. We couldn’t keep it running without you.

There is a committee who help to run the hall behind the scenes! Some of the committee have just sorted out a mould issue, ordered new windows, sorted the leaking roof, got WiFi and planted up the planters. The hall also needs regular maintenance.

A massive thank you to Ben Seedhouse for regularly cutting the lawn on his mower! Pete Hope has also been seen cutting the hedges and Sara Hope never leaves.

Paul Cranidge cuts the church grass and deserves a mention!

We are holding our AGM June 2nd at 7.30 pm.
If you want to come along it is an open meeting. We are always looking for new committee members or just ideas.

Also if you have any thoughts for events you would like to see at the hall please comment on here!
A quiz night? A line dancing night?

If anybody has any spare time we really need someone to give the hedge a mini trim so that it’s easier for Ben to mow. We can’t do a tractor trim until nesting time has finished.

Can you help with a few odd jobs? Please message on here and let us know. For example the outside patio furniture needs sanding and painting. Are you good at this and fancy an outside summer volunteering job? We are very grateful!

Many thanks

The 3rd in our series of 4 training sessions in CPR and the use of defibrillators took place at the Normanton on Trent Village Hall on Saturday morning 14th March.
The session was well attended and feedback from the training was very positive.
We have one session left on Tuesday 17th March, again at the Village Hall at 6pm.
There are spaces still availabke so call or message Rod on 07815 893052 to reserve yourself a space.
It's completely free, sponsored by the Parish Council and who knows your new knowledge could one day literally save a life.
We look forward to hearing from you and to the next CPR training event.

A brilliant Christmas get together for Normanton on Trent senior residents at the Village Hall on Wednesday 3rd December. The hall was dressed up for Christmas and the Weston Choir sang to make it feel even more Christmassy.
A great day, with all having a good time including those who put on the event.
