This week is volunteers week in the UK, this week focuses on celebrating community spirit, generosity, and the power of kindness.
Tivetshall Village Hall is run by a management committee of just six trustees, who are all volunteers. The management committee are responsible for the maintenance of the building and ensuring the hall generates enough income to cover the running costs and repairs.
The committee is supported by a number of very committed volunteers who who give up their time to help with regular and one-off events. A good example of volunteers working together is our community cafe Tivetshall Tea Junction, which couldn’t happen without volunteers who help both on the day and behind the scenes. They do it because they like to contribute to our community and are generous with their time, most of our lovely customers are appreciative of their giving nature and return that kindness.
The village hall is just one section of the community which relies on volunteers, others include the Parish Council, the school, the church,
football club and action groups like Block East Pye Solar.
We should indeed recognise and celebrate all volunteers who contribute so much to our community.
