Last night in Junior Section, our boys continued with their theme of prayer and enjoyed an interactive prayer walk with Sarah, exploring the what and why of prayer, saying sorry, asking for help and thanking God. They filled a graffiti board with their prayer requests. Thank you Sarah for leading us through this valuable activity.

The boys also enjoyed some competitive dodgeball and team games.

It’s been a busy weekend for our Junior Section boys and leaders. This afternoon they took to the football pitch for their monthly Super 7s competition, drawing 3 and losing 1 of their 4 matches. The boys played really well together with 4 of the team making their 2nd Comber debuts today.

Well done boys for a great afternoon of football and friendship.

What a busy evening!

Our Explorers were looking at Noah’s Ark this week 🌈
Junior Explorers had fun experimenting with skittles to help us remember that God keeps his promises ❤️
Senior Explorers got a little rainbow keyring home as a reminder of God’s promise!

Juniors finished making their fruits of the spirit for the art competition 🖌️
Seniors baked some honeycomb rocky roads and cookies. They also enjoyed designing their own tote bags 🎨
Brigaders had lots of fun playing games, practicing PE and pickleball!

Some of our Seniors also had a great evening at the district netball competition 🏐 held in Saintfield. The girls gave it their all and one of the teams even reached the semifinals 🤩

Champions 🏆

Last night our Junior Section Quiz Team were fantastic and won the Belfast Battalion Quiz Kids competition. 8 teams took part from across Belfast, Newtownabbey and Bangor. It was a challenging quiz, but their preparation and teamwork paid off as they won by 4 points. Even more impressive was that this was one of our youngest teams we’ve entered for this competition.

The boys were outstanding and a real credit to 2nd Comber BB. We’re really proud of them! Now they progress to the Northern Ireland Final in November.

Could you spare a little time some Tuesday night this year to come and visit our BB Company and perhaps share something with our boys as we seek to expand our programme opportunities?

Maybe you’re a keen crafter, or you could teach them some DIY skills?

Maybe you teach them how to make an easy meal, or how to play padel?

Maybe you could read a Bible story, or take them for some fitness circuit training?

Maybe you could share something about a community organisation or charity you’re involved with, or give them an insight to your job?

This evening a spotlight on our Company and Seniors at BB…

Last Sunday saw the introduction of our Seniors Bible Study with breakfast in the Cottage. The guys began working through a study in Mark and particularly enjoyed the group discussion.

Tonight it was Nigel’s turn in the Leader’s Hot Seat, sharing about his time at school, jobs he’s had and the influence BB and church organisations had on him as he was going up. He encouraged us all to see the opportunities God presents and to answer his call to step outside our comfort zone sometimes.

Afterwards we had another squad challenge - this time was a photo hunt. The teams were given a list of categories and they had to work together and get creative to take a photo for each category - there were some great photos submitted and a few interesting ones too, so we just had to share them!
