CCRG Comber Community Residents Group

CCRG Comber Community Residents Group Comber Community Residents Group exists to improve the quality of life for residents in Social Housing. Member of Ards & North Down Housing Community Network.

The HCN works on four levels:

COMMUNITY
At the estate or community level, we are here to listen to your views and help you in any way we can with local community issues or concerns you may have with the Housing Executive and other agencies. AREA
Area managers will look for representatives from each of the local resident/community associations across the neighbourhood to come together at a neighbo

urhood forum. The forum will discuss service group standards, service delivery and related housing issues. REGIONS
There is also a forum set up in each of the Housing Executive's 5 regions, to which each District HCN sends representatives. The Regional Housing Community Networks monitor and review services throughout their area. CENTRE
The Central Housing Community Network is the Housing Executive's central panel advising on our policies and procedures. The Central HCN comprises fifteen tenant and community representatives nominated from the area networks. Also, a member of the Central Housing Forum. The Central Housing Forum is a consultative panel to the Housing Executive and is made up of representatives from each of the thirteen areas, as well as representation from hard-to-reach groups including young people, people with disabilities and people from rural areas. The Central Housing Forum represents the Housing Community Network, the key forum for tenant engagement in Northern Ireland. The Housing Community Network is comprised of approximately 500 community groups across NI as well as representative tenant involvement panels in each of the Housing Executive Areas of housing management. This forum has a recognised and meaningful role in the monitoring and decision-making process of the Housing Executive and influences decisions affecting tenants and communities. The panel scrutinises policies and procedures and, moreover, act as a quality assurance to the Housing Executive Board.

Comber Community Residents Group is pleased to confirm that a defibrillator has now been installed at 9 Laburnum Way. This Defib is also registered with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service on the Circuit. While this represents an important step forward for the Laburnum area, it also highlights the need to improve access to life-saving equipment across other local housing estates in Comber. Early CPR and rapid access to a defibrillator are critical, which is why we want to expand Community Provision as an urgent priority. We are making further applications, and community support would help secure additional installations. Would you be willing to host a Defibrillator? If so, contact Comber Community Residents Group for further information and to discuss what this would involve. Email: [email protected]. Local support and visible Community Commitment will play an important role in helping to save lives. Stephen Mills Comber Community Residents Group.
