When you take in a cat, found looking for food, to find her big belly could be worms but at this time of year means kittens! Sophie here gave birth to five beauties ALL RESERVED. Now it’s time to spay her, microchip and vaccinate and find her the safe home she deserves. She will be happier in a country home, where she can go in and out and probably be happy to see off the beasties 🐁 🐀 🐭

Nine kittens are now reserved to lovely new supporters. Kittens are purrfectly happy with simply made toys and a cardboard box as beds. No need to spend a fortune on highly priced items. A cardboard box with an old t-shirt or jumper that has your scent on it will help them bond to you. Leaving mum and the litter for the first time means you become the one to care for, provide for and become their new playmate and family. Kittens are covered by Petplan for 4weeks while they settle with you which gives you time to arrange your own insurance policy and think about how you will save for annual booster jabs and monthly flea and worm control. Please make sure you can also afford to pay for unexpected accidents or sickness as we can’t help you financially after adoption. Full vaccination covers for most common illnesses and holiday stays at a cattery. Neutering fees are covered by your adoption fee so Carol will keep in touch to arrange a time and place. Lots to think about before the next litter is ready to go. Watch this space 😻😻😻😻

After a successful few days introducing families to their new kitten - 9 are now reserved!
Then comes the downside. Sadly we have time wasters galore at the moment not what we want to do on the weekend as volunteers.
1.Expecting neutering vouchers for three cats and not giving proof of a low household income! Booking them in anyway! Why take on three if you can’t afford to neuter? Take one cat and pay for it. It’s not the only expense when taking on a pet. What about basic care and emergencies? Think it through.
2. We ask the tough questions - can you afford it, what happens when you go on holiday or have to go into hospital etc.
3. Happy to give advice but please don’t expect your cat to be neutered free if your cat has an unexpected litter and you ask us to find homes we do checks. If you sell them yourself you can afford to pay for neutering! Patience runs out…..
4. PLEASE don’t ask for help then go elsewhere. Just let us know so we are not wasting our time trying to help you.
5. Be like all our supporters and understand what we can and can’t do to help you.

Another mammoth donation of cat food and litter left at our drop off point in Llanidloes today. Thank you to all who support what we do and to Cobbler’s Tearoom for offering a safe place and a great Gelato 🍧 ☕️ and 🧁 always worth it!
All these kittens are reserved and will be adopted after a vet check, microchip, and first vaccination. They will have had a course of flea and wormer and will have the first month covered by Petplan Insurance when homed. Always make sure you can afford to continue the annual boosters and regular parasite control and be able to cover emergencies which need treatment at your vet surgery as we can’t help with that. Neutering is covered with a voucher but you must tell Carol when and where BEFORE the procedure. Thank you 😼

It is Volunteers week!

We are so grateful to every volunteer on our team. Each one is an individual and brings something different to the team.

This week we celebrate them and for giving up their time not just for us but to help the cats in our care ❤️

Recovering from our epic day at Caersws Vintage Rally ☀️ The heat was a challenge but we won due to the lovely people who stopped for a chat and the odd quiz about kittens they have taken on ‘for free’ from our rural areas. It’s great to listen and answer questions but saddens me as it means the cats ‘not owned’ are still out there breeding out of control and spreading disease which will shorten the lives they would have had they been neutered. However the high point is the support we get year on year from those of you who really care and help by donating and making beautiful lap quilts for our adopted cats. You know who you are 🫶 Overall on the day we made £350. Thanks to all those who supported the raffle from far and wide and congratulations to the two lucky winners of the lovely hampers put together by Lynne our fundraiser and many local producers and shops.
Let me know if you like these small quilts. Open to offers 😻🐾🐾
