4 days to go to our big spring fundraiser to try and buy new cages for the updated hedgehog cabin.
There is a massive amount of amazing prizes, for the CHARITY BINGO AND RAFFLE NIGHT MONTY CLUB 7PM JUNE 2ND.
There are hampers, fruit hampers, cakes, gifts, drink, vouches for chiropody and massage.
A hedgehog house with a bag of straw a Food station with hedgehog food and biscuits in. Plus a huge amount more.
Raffle tickets are available for next 4 days. £1 a strip of 5. You can buy then via paypal and I ll send you a pic of your tickets.
If you don t do raffles but could join in the fundraiser with a donation that would be amazing. Thank you all.

OK, my fault, I said it was quiet. 3 hoglets brought to me by lovely Lyn from Wrexham rescue.

Still quiet at the rescue. One very poor hedgehog in last evening, thin, dehydrated, spines flat, wobbly, flystrike. Sure sign it's very weak and sick. She had survived the night just. As it had 2 drops of mite liquid on its neck, it has passed a large roundworm half full of eggs and plenty of capillaries eggs in sample now, so has been struggling for a while. We may not be able to save Dude.
Another one hubby picked up in Llanidloes last evening.
Opposite to Dude, 789g female, rounded, looks healthy, could be pregnant, no sign that it's had suckling hoglets on her. Sunny. This is one that did nt need rescuing. May have just been hungry and thirsty as its eaten well overnight. Will test her today and try and get her back in the wild asap.

Thank you so much to our volunteers who helped at the show.
2 hrs setting up on Sunday in the blazing heat.
8 30 until 5 30 the show, then packing and unpacking at home.
So so much work goes into a fundraising stall. We buy items or make and put a small amount on to sell, £180 spent on all the items.
Sadly because it was so hot many folk did not come, not as many children around and all we took was £219 and £40 of that were gifts of folk we know.
So very dissapointed.
It won t even buy one pod.
We have another fundraiser on JUNE 2ND
Bingo and raffle at the Monty club.
Please come and support this as the prizes are amazing. So many huge hampers so many company's have helped.
I have raffle tickets at the rescue if anyone would like to purchase some, pay on PayPal.

As the heat rises the streams and ponds dry up. Hedgehogs are giving birth now and need plenty to drink more that ever. Please put dishes of fresh water in the evening in the garden and refresh every night. Also hedgehogs may not find many insects, worms ect when it's very dry.
Please put a dish of moist hedgehogs bites, or kitten biscuits in dishes near to where you have seen a hedgehog.
One of our biggest problems at this time of year is strimmer injuries
Mower, or garden implements raking or digging under hedges or trees.
Dog attacks especially when they are pregnant. Please just look and check first.
If you disturbed a mother with a nest, and she runs off, please cover the nest as you found it, don t touch hoglets unless they are wandering out of the nest and won t be safe, please run and get a towel or something to pick it up and put in nest without getting your smell on them. Leave and keep away from that area and see if mum comes back. It a few hours have gone and hoglets are squeaking get a container and pick them up and put in with a towel to keep them warm. Bring in the house and ring us please, time is important to allow mum to come back but they can t go longer than a few hours without heat, fluids and puppy milk. It's a specialist job, please do not try to help them yourselves.

Released 3 hedgehogs Saturday eve then 3 come in yesterday.
One has had to be PTS at the vets, Honey from Hill top. Head injury and bleeding from its nose.
One very poorly with breathing difficulties and very dehydrated and 3rd has lung and roundworm and dehydrated.
A week today we ll be at the Caersws Vintage Car Rally.
40th anniversary show.
Please come snd support us in the big tent.
Lots of new products, all hedgehog related.

Just picked up this lovely hamper from Morrisons a Rally prize gor our big fundraiser, with amazing prizes at the Monty club bingo and raffle for us.
