"It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you of the passing of Beryl Lewis DStJ. Beryl passed away peacefully at home on Sunday evening, 13 September, with her family by her side, following a short illness.

Beryl had been a lifelong and devoted member of St John, joining in 1958 and serving continuously until her retirement in 2014. Throughout her distinguished service, she held numerous roles at both divisional and county level, with her final appointment being Deputy Commissioner for Powys.
Following her retirement, Beryl continued her commitment to the organisation as Divisional President of Newtown Division, a position she held with pride and dedication until her passing."
David Gardener, Powys County Commissioner.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Beryl’s family as they come to terms with their loss.

Today, we said our final goodbyes to our one and only Lynda 'Duckie' Williams 😢 Duckie was such a character, friend and mentor, who left an impression on all who met her.

The amount of people who attended the funeral was a testament of a life well lived.
We'd like to express our sincere thanks, not only to our Powys members but those who came from further afield to pay their own respects to Duckie in the guard of honour.

In true Duckie fashion, there had to be something a little cheeky to pay her a tribute 🦆 we think she would have approved 😉

For your time, friendship and dedication to the order, we thank you. "Pro Fide and Pro Utilitate Hominum."
3893 stand down, your duty is complete 😢

This week it was announced our own David Gardner would become a member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE).
David has been with Newtown from the start if his St John journey and in that time has acheived a great deal, including becoming a Knight of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John.
The work David has done is phenomenal and we would like to congratulate and thank him for his hard work, not just within St John but the community in which he serves.

We are so humbled to those members who joined us last night at short notice to reminisce over Lynda 'Duckie' and her amazing volunteering career.
Yes there were tears, but also smiles and laughter for such a colourful character ❤️
