Yealm Community Electric Transport From an idea conceived around a table - in a barn in Feb 2020, there was a desire to offer the community an electric powered water transport service.

🛟The River Yealm Ferry is run by Yealm Community Electric Transport (YCET ) as a ferry and water taxi service across the River Yealm, the 🥾, , , village pubs 🍻 and boat moorings ⛵🛥️ We are now delighted to announce that the boat has been delivered and we will soon be able to offer you a regular service to and from your vessel and various points along the River Yealm.

After a sunny and successful 2026 season, the Yealm Ferry will be closing down for the winter on Wednesday, 30th September.
Thank you all for all your support this year.
Plan is to re-commence just before Easter 2027. 🚤

Summer is here, and from tomorrow (10 July) we'll be operating our extended summer timetable, giving you more time to enjoy everything our beautiful estuary has to offer.

Summer Operating Hours
☀️ Sunday – Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
🌅 Friday – Saturday: 9:00am – 9:00pm

Whether you're setting off for a scenic walk, meeting friends for lunch, enjoying an evening meal, or simply soaking up the views, the Yealm Ferry is a quick, enjoyable and sustainable way to cross the river and explore both sides of the estuary.

Fancy something different? We also offer river cruises and trips to Cellar Beach by arrangement, subject to weather and tides.

Summer Opening Hours (from 10th July):
Sunday – Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Friday – Saturday: 9:00am – 9:00pm
