Dear families
Each year the PTFA raises significant money for the school. In the last year this has funded 32 Chromebooks (over £5K total); set up the second-hand uniform shop; bought new playground equipment; purchased items to revamp the EYFS outdoor area; committed up to £1,000 to building a guinea pig run; bought items for Forest School; including a zip line, slackline, wood tools, base camp kettle, etc; bought a changing table for nursery; bought chess sets for chess club; bought tools and goggles for school trips; committed £100 to each classroom to be spent as the teachers saw fit; and helped to create new learning spaces from the NEST (more on this to come).
The PTFA is a registered charity (number 1097432). This means we need at least 2 elected Trustees, including a Chairperson and Treasurer. Our current Trustees – Chair, Treasurer and 2 Co-Secretaries - have decided to step down from these positions for the coming year. We will be on hand to facilitate a handover and help to support the new team, but we need to replace these roles to continue to function as a charity.
If we cannot fill these roles The PTFA will have to fold. As well as no more fundraising, it also means there will be no team to organise events such as the Discos, Christmas Fair, Summer Fair, Bingo, Curry and Quiz night and Cheese and Wine night.
We are holding the AGM on 19th September from 7:30pm at the Highweek Village Inn. We will vote in the new elected officers or if we cannot fill the roles, we will have to fold the PTFA.
If you are interested in any of these roles, or would like to find out more about them, please email [email protected] or speak to your PTFA contact in the class WhatsApp groups.
Best Wishes
PTFA Team 2024-25
