Loneliness Awareness Week πŸ’™
Living with Functional Neurological Disorder can be incredibly isolating.
Many people with FND experience symptoms that others cannot see or understand. Changes to work, education, friendships, and family life can leave people feeling alone, misunderstood, and disconnected.

Loneliness isn't just about being by yourselfβ€”it can also mean feeling unheard, unsupported, or like no one truly understands what you're going through.

At FND FrieNDs , we believe that no one should face FND alone. Through our support groups, online communities, creative sessions, and peer support, we help people build connections, share experiences, and remind each other that they are part of a community that understands.
This Loneliness Awareness Week, take a moment to check in with someone living with FND. A simple message, phone call, or cup of tea can make a real difference.
Together, we can turn isolation into connection.
πŸ’™ You are not alone. We are stronger together.

πŸ’™ What Being a Volunteer Means πŸ’™

Volunteering is about so much more than giving your time. It's about making a difference, finding connection, and rediscovering purpose.
For many people living with FND, life can change unexpectedly. Things that once felt routine may become difficult, and it can sometimes feel like you've lost part of your identity.

Volunteering offers the opportunity to rebuild confidence, learn new skills, and become part of something meaningful again.
At FND FrieNDs, our volunteers are at theπŸ’œheart of everything we do. Whether you're supporting an event, helping behind the scenes, offering peer support, or simply sharing your lived experience, every contribution matters.

Volunteering can:
πŸ’™ Give you a renewed sense of purpose.
πŸ’™ Build confidence and self-esteem.
πŸ’™ Help reduce isolation by connecting with others who understand.
πŸ’™ Develop new skills and experience.
πŸ’™ Remind you that your experiences have value and can help others.
Living with FND doesn't define what you can contribute. Every step forward, no matter how big or small, helps make a difference to someone else.
"Purpose isn't about doing everything you used to doβ€”it's about discovering the difference you can make today."
FND FrieNDs – Together we inspire hope, build confidence, and remind one another that every person has something valuable to give. πŸ’™

πŸ’™ Carers Week πŸ’™

At FND Friends, we want to take a moment to recognise and thank all carers for the incredible support, compassion, and dedication they provide every day.

Caring for someone with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) can be challenging, both physically and emotionally, yet carers continue to offer strength, understanding, and encouragement when it is needed most.

This Carers Week, we celebrate you and all that you do. Your kindness, patience, and unwavering support make a real difference to the lives of those you care for.

✨ To every carer – thank you. You are valued, appreciated, and never alone. ✨
"Caring is one of the greatest acts of kindness, and every act of support makes a difference."
