We support ordinary people facing extraordinary challenges from early years right through to later years. With an uncompromising, people-first approach, we go the extra mile to complement existing services. In our social enterprise, our products are lovingly handcrafted by young adults of mixed ability and all profits go back into supporting our vital work. Our fantastic family support workers attended the Women's aid family day in Gosford Park last week to let people know about the help that is here 💜

Our highly skilled and experienced family support team offer bespoke services tailored to meet the individual needs of families. This may include emotional support for parents and children, practical home-based support, parenting advice, signposting and assistance in accessing other services, grants and financial help.

We are so proud of every member of An Droichead. We know each and every one of them will go on to do even more incredible things. 👏

Here we go with results:
100% completed OCN Level 1 Employability Skills 💯
28% achieved Level 2 in both Essential Skills Literacy and Numeracy
37% achieved Level 1 in both Essential Skills Literacy and Numeracy
18% achieved either one or other Level 1.

That is a total of 27 academic awards! In addition, all 11 received accredited vocational awards in Health and Safety, First Aid and Food Safety.

They also gained invaluable work experience thanks to companies such as S&W Wholesale Playr-Fit Teamwear O'Reillys Wholesale JT Carpets Bessbrook ltd, DOCSOL, Habitat ReStore Newry, Computer Hospital, , The Bookshelf, SlackPress Studios, Byrne Garage, New Century Print, Braham Group, Sports Direct.

A Note for Families: We aim to make our trips as welcoming and inclusive as possible. Our team will be there to support the day, however parents/carers remain responsible for supervising their child and deciding whether the activity and environment are suitable for their individual needs.💜

❌ What if everyone already knows each other?

❌ What if I can't leave?
❌ What if it's one of those events where everyone says 'just mingle'? 😱

Fair enough.

We can't promise your brain will suddenly believe us.

But we can tell you what you'll actually find...

☕ A small group of autistic adults (diagnosed, awaiting assessment, or simply recognising themselves in the autistic experience).

💜 People who understand that conversation isn't compulsory.

🥐 Tea, coffee, scones, and biscuits.

🚪 No pressure to arrive on time.

👋 No pressure to stay until the end.

🤫 Sitting quietly is a valid form of participation.

💬 Talking for an hour about your current hyper fixation? Also, acceptable.

Basically... come as you are. Stay as long as you like. Leave when you've had enough.
