Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment (HBO) provides the body with extra oxygen. This is done by sitting in what is known as a Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber where the air pressure is raised up to three times higher than normal and using a mask to breathe in the pure oxygen. How does it work? Oxygen is carried around the body by the blood. Breathing in 100% (pure) oxygen under increased atmospheric pressure allo

ws extra oxygen to be taken up by the bloodstream and dissolved at a far greater rate. The treatment increases the amount of oxygen your blood can carry. This extra oxygen can help where healing is slowed down by infection or where blood supply is limited by damage to the tissues. Who can benefit from it? In short almost anyone! It can help in a number of different situations where body tissues have suffered from a decrease in oxygen levels. To name just a few types of patients-

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our small grassroots charity was chosen, together with 103 other local charities, to receive funding from the Belfast Black Santa Appeal 2025.
Representatives of Newry & Mourne MS Community Therapy Centre Ltd were honoured to be invited to attend the annual Good Samaritans’ Service which was held in the majestic St Anne’s Cathedral Belfast on Sunday 1st February to celebrate the achievements of the Black Santa Appeal 2025 which raised a staggering total of £140,000.

The service payed tribute to the work of all the charities who will benefit from an allocation of the funds raised, however we also wish to highlight the extraordinary perseverance of Dean Stephen Forde and his team who, each day for ten days before Christmas, held a sitout outside St. Anne’s Cathedral regardless of the weather conditions to raise funds. This year, one of the areas of focus for the appeal is Multiple Sclerosis, and we are delighted to have received £9,000 to be used for this year's annual servicing of our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy equipment, and also for new oxygen masks for our MS clients.

We would like to express our most sincere thanks and deep appreciation to Dean Stephen Forde, and also to everyone who supported the Black Santa Appeal 2025. Your most generous donation will enable us to continue to provide our services for the benefit of those suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.
