A WORD FROM MY HEART - THE GOSPEL IS LOVE
- In the midst of the political turmoil going on in the world today
- In the midst of many erroneous declarations made by senior political figures in the name of Christianity
- In the midst of the rise of anti-muslim sentiments orchestrated by people claiming to represent Christianity
- In the midst of the spread of unmasked hatred and contempt expressed by some Christian leaders
- In the midst of a season where some people are trying to appropriate the gospel for their political dominance at the cost of the corruption of the true gospel.
As a Christian who preaches the gospel in the Eastern and Western world, I want to state the following:
- The gospel is not about denigrating other races, cultures and religious groups
- The gospel is not about belittling people of other races, cultures and religious groups
- The gospel is not about criminalising people of other races, cultures and religious groups
- The gospel is not about desecrating other races, cultures and religious values
- The gospel is not about insulting the prophets and highly esteemed personalities of other religious groups
- Do I need to remind us that we are all born human beings before becoming religious, before embracing religion?
- I don't subscribe to that kind of gospel, which is not the gospel at all.
- I represent the gospel of Jesus Christ, which values every human being regardless of race, religion, cultural differences or social rank.
- I represent the gospel of Jesus Christ that strives for the well-being and the salvation of all souls.
The difference between a Christian and a non-Christian is the level of revelation of the person of Jesus Christ, and that revelation is not obtained by merit or family inheritance, but by the grace and mercy of the Lord.
I mean, no one has ever passed an exam to become a Christian
If there is such an exam, please let us know so others can also take it and become as holy as you are.
So give time to those God has not called yet. (John 6:44
For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him to me, and on the last day, I will cause all such to rise again from the dead).
It almost feels as if, had the blood of Jesus been entrusted in the hands of certain men, they would have handpicked who to wash for eternal life.
Treating non-Christian people with contempt is fundamentally and absolutely anti-Christian.
We were all non-Christians one day, and we were certainly not saved by hatred and contempt.
The apostles went across the world to different people, nations, and continents at the cost of their own lives to preach the true gospel because everyone is worthy to receive it.
- Non-Christian people are the very object, purpose and motivation of our very preaching.
- We are called to proclaim to them the abundant love and wonders of the Lord Jesus Christ. Hating when we are called to love is a sign of spiritual malnourishment and weakness
- We win the world through the power of the word of god and the expression of his love.
The plan of god for salvation involves all people, all nations, all tribes and all languages. None is excluded.
(Revelation 7:9-10) After this, I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation,
from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the lamb, clothed in white robes,
with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our god who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”)
There is therefore no place for hatred in Christianity. Love and hatred cannot cohabit in a single heart. A good Christian is above all a good, meek citizen striving for peaceful social cohesion. Jesus died for us all.
John 6:44
For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him to me, and on the last day, I will cause all such to rise again from the dead.
Matthew 23:13
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!
You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces.
You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.
Revelation 7:9-10
After this i looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “salvation belongs to our god who sits on the throne, and to the lamb!”
