A youth led movement shaping tomorrow's leaders 🧑🏽👧🏽
Scouting in Newry since 1945 ⚜

Scouting is a movement of young people, which helps to achieve their full potential through a programme based on fun, friendship, challenge and adventure. Young people in Scouting are supported, encouraged and led by adult volunteers, all of whom understand the responsibility and trust placed in them by parents and guardians. The encouragement of self-awareness in its members, as individuals and as members of teams, is fundamental to Scouting. A natural result of this should be that an environment is created where all our members (regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion, political persuasion or ability) feel comfortable to be themselves, to do their best, to achieve their full potential and, as responsible citizens, to improve society.

Leaders wanted! Fancy giving Scouting a go?

We're on the look-out for a few more leaders to lend a hand at Newry Scouts.

You don't need to have been a Scout. You don't need to know a single knot. Just a few hours, a bit of patience and a willingness to muck in.

Every one of the faces in these photos started exactly where you are now.

If you want to know more or know of a friendly face that would like to join, send us a message or email [email protected].

June was a busy month for our Scout Group, not least for our Scout Troop, who camped and supported two events in the community 🏕️ Firstly, we camped at Dromantine, helped them set up for their fun day and litter picked 🚮 Then, a week later, we were at Kilbroney, litter picking at the vintage car rally 🚗 Thanks to William Baird Butchers for keeping us fuelled with delicious burgers 🍔😋

Our Cubs and Beavers had an absolute blast! 🎉 Loads of team building 🤝, conquering the climbing wall 🧗 and an ice cream down at the beach 🍦☀️

And that’s the cubs and beavers done for the summer. Have a brilliant break everyone! See you in September! 👋

What a weekend! 🌟 Our Beavers headed off to camp and for some of them it was their very first night under canvas! 🛖✨

We had a brilliant time hiking to the Ice House 🥾🌳, gathering round the campfire 🔥, belting out our favourite campfire songs 🎶 and toasting up some delicious s’mores 🍫😋

So proud of all our young Beavers for being brave, getting stuck in and making memories that’ll last a lifetime! 🦫💛
