💙 SUPPORTING THE BRAIN INJURY FOUNDATION 💙

We’re delighted to help spread the word about a fantastic Fundraising Event being organised by our friends at The Brain Injury Foundation, an organisation we work closely with in supporting people and families affected by brain injury.

Taking place on Thursday 29th October at 7.30pm, the evening promises plenty of comedy, music and stories, while raising much-needed funds to support the important work of the Brain Injury Foundation.

🎟️ Tickets are just £10 per person, with a raffle on the night.

If you can, please support this brilliant local charity, come along, bring your friends and enjoy a great night for a very worthwhile cause! 💙

🏰 A Wonderful BIF Day Out! 🌻

Jeanie, Linda, Lucy, Faith, Olive and Ruth recently enjoyed a fantastic day together, beginning with a delicious lunch at Barrel and Bean in Dromore before travelling to Hillsborough Castle to take part in the 2026 Scarecrow Parade.

Working with artist Shauna Magowan, the group created a scarecrow display inspired by this year’s theme, “People & Places.”

BIF chose people picnicking in the park, inspired by the happy days our members spent together outdoors over the summer. It was a lovely way to celebrate friendship, shared experiences and the special places where memories are made. 🧺🌳

As the number of people who could take part at Hillsborough Castle on Monday was limited, we also gave the members attending Tuesday’s TTT session the opportunity to get involved and create their own scarecrows. Everyone brought their own ideas and creativity to the theme!

BIF activities are about so much more than the activity itself - they offer opportunities to visit new places, share a meal, try something different, enjoy plenty of laughter and spend time with friends.

If you have not joined us on one of our outings or activities recently, keep an eye on our upcoming programme. You could be part of our next adventure - we would love to have you with us! 💚

🤝 Bridge – Building Connections Together

The Brain Injury Foundation is delighted to be collaborating with Head Injury Support to deliver Bridge, an exciting programme of 11 shared sessions for brain injury survivors and carers.

Funded by the Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland through its Collaborate Programme, Bridge is bringing members of both organisations together to meet new people, enjoy shared activities and build friendships in a welcoming and supportive environment.

We have already completed our first two sessions, with another nine sessions still to come. The programme will conclude with a special celebration event recognising the friendships formed, experiences shared and achievements made along the way.

We are very grateful to the Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland for making this partnership possible. We look forward to continuing our journey together and creating more opportunities for connection, confidence and belonging.

Our pool team of Pearse Rafferty,Paul Rowland, Arnold Carville and Tony Dolaghan accompanied by Manager Frank Dolaghan travelled yesterday to Ballymoney to play our next match in the NIreland disability pool league. Sadly we were beaten nine to three. We are looking forward to the province wide tournament in Coleraine on 7th October when we compete as individuals. Many thanks to Natalie and Jimmy from Newry and Mourne Community Transport for safe and comfortable travel yesterday.
