With doctor appointments nearly impossible to book, this could be a life-saver for someone. You get to see professional nurses who carry out an overall check on your health. Definitely worthwhile.

What a day of music, singing and recitals we had at Yellow Road Farm on Monday to kick off Ulster Fleadh week. The weather was beautiful and the talent from Clonduff and surrounding areas came out to mark the event. We even had Niko, a guitarist from Nashville and Suzanne, a fiddle player from Belfast, join us. The children played / danced their hearts out and were treated to a farm walk, led by Marie.
We thank you all for attending, young and old and making it such a special day to remember. Special thanks to Jimmy for organising, Shay for looking after car parking, Geraldine for the tray bakes, Ellen/Nuala/Teresa for the tea duties. Here's a few photos from the day.

There's a few times in life you feel blessed to meet someone who is passionate about our environment and the role we can play in helping nature do what she does best, in providing us with her beautiful plants, flowers, insects and wildlife. Well, everyone who attended the talk today from Brian MacDomnhall felt blessed. Brian's knowledge of how we can help our eco-system in our back yards, lanes, waterways and fields was just amazing. In a nutshell, we have to change our perception of what is beautiful in our gardens. The perfectly manicured lawn, contributes nothing to nature and he asked us all to start 'looking down'... There's a universe of insects and plants living down there beneath our feet, if we only realised and were aware of them. He shared stories from his own garden and we had a farm walk where he was able to identify species of plants that he tried but couldn't get to grow in Co. Monaghan!
We thank you Brian and everyone for coming along today to make it a lovely experience. And special thanks to everyone who brought over home-baked treats.... Mary Berry would have been proud. xx

"Rewilding Our Gardens"

Please feel free to join us on Yellow Road Farm this Saturday 6 June between 10.30am and 1.00pm, to learn about sustainable growing and rewilding.

We will explore the benefits of organic gardening for biodiversity and balanced ecosystems.

A presentation will be given by Brian Mac Domhnall, who has recently completed a documentary for RTE on the subject and has created a wonderful garden of his own, that is now home to many native plants and animals.

With the cost of mower fuel ever increasing, this is a way of 'giving-back to nature.'

A suggested donation of £5.00 would be appreciated. Light refreshments will be provided.

Birthdays are always special occasions at Yellow Road Farm. Well yesterday, it was the turn for Conor to have his birthday party, with the usual complimentary game of pool to finish up the day.
Really hope you enjoyed your day Conor and thank you for all your help!
ps. Brian won the pool trophy, narrowly beating Martin in a tight game.
We'd like to thank 'McGreeveys Spar' staff for their generosity to our participants on their birthdays. You are always so good and it makes their birthdays even more special.

We're delighted that 'Yellow Road Farm' will feature tomorrow morning on 'Sunday Morning Live' at 10.30am. Sure why not tune in and see what we do, with Holly and the crew. It will also be available on BBC iPlayer later on in the day.
We haven't seen the footage yet ourselves, so fingers crossed we all enjoy.
