We were proud to have the pleasure of hosting the first ever Women in Lifeguarding Training Week here in Newquay 💛🌊

Created to inspire and empower women in lifeguarding, the week brought together women from across the RNLI to expand knowledge, develop leadership skills and share experiences with like-minded people

From practical learning and development opportunities to conversations, challenges and plenty of time spent in the water, it was a fantastic opportunity to learn from one another and build connections that will continue beyond the week

We’re proud to support the development of women within lifeguarding and excited to see where this group goes next 🛟

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the week possible and to all those who took part! 💛

A fond farewell to our Crantock hut 💛

After many years of service, it’s time to say goodbye to our lifeguard hut at Crantock 💔

The hut has been a familiar sight on the beach for generations of lifeguards — a place to start and finish a shift, keep an eye on the water, and, most importantly, help keep beachgoers safe

The hut will soon be demolished to make way for a new facility, which will be built by Crantock Surf Lifesaving Club. We’re looking forward to seeing what the future brings and watching a new chapter begin at Crantock 🌊

You will now find our lifeguards based in an additional patrol vehicle at the bottom of the Crantock hut steps when required 👋🏼

Here’s to the memories made and the next chapter at Crantock 🛟💛

Yesterday marked the end of another busy main season for the Newquay Lifeguards! 🛟

A huge thank you to all of our lifeguards for their hard work, dedication and commitment throughout another busy summer 💛

Although the main season is coming to an end, we’re still here keeping watch over Newquay’s beaches

From now until October half term:�🛟 Fistral – patrolled full time�🛟 Crantock, Towan, Watergate Bay & Mawgan Porth – patrolled weekends

As the days get shorter and the summer crowds begin to disappear, the sea can still be unpredictable 🌊

Please take care, check the conditions and look out for our lifeguards when you’re heading to the coast 🏄🏼‍♀️

🌊 Lifeguards recognised for outstanding rescue 🛟

We’re incredibly proud to see another three of our lifeguards were awarded chief executive commendations from the RNLI for their actions during a challenging mass rescue of 17 casualties at Fistral Beach on 26th July 2025.

Faced with extremely hazardous conditions, the team showed courage and teamwork resulting in a lives saved.

Well deserved recognition for everyone involved. 👏🌊

At Watergate Bay, Olly and Agus responded to two teenage swimmers who had been caught in a powerful rip current and dragged out to sea 🌊

Please note that L***y Glaze beach and South Fistral are no longer patrolled 🚩 all our other beaches remain patrolled 7 days a week 10am-6pm ✅
