👩‍🍳We are so excited that semi-finalist Frankie Dunn is joining us for the opening of our new community stores tomorrow.

Here she shares why it's important to her to support The Stores.

If you feel the same, you can support our project to help people move on from free emergency food by donating what you can to our Crowdfunder.

We're working hard to get ready for the opening of The Stores!

🥗Our community pantry will help people move on from free emergency food, providing a welcoming space where our visitors can access an affordable shopping experience. It's a step towards regaining financial independence, supported by practical information such as budgeting and wellbeing guidance.

👩‍🍳We're delighted Masterchef Semi-Finalist Frankie Dunn will be conjuring up food on the day for our visitors from our fresh, chilled and ambient supplies.

Why not donate to our Crowdfunder to support the purchase of equipment and help to ensure the delivery of a safe, welcoming, and sustainable service from day one.

💚A huge thank you to the amazing Newquay Velo Cycling Club for their fundraising event in May.

They raised an incredible £1030 for our charity!

Chair of the club Scott Mitchell said: “We are really pleased with the result - it’s our best fundraiser at the club to date.”

We are very grateful for the team’s effort and the contribution to our work.

Our Fundraising & Comms manager Josie is pictured with the club's Secretary (centre) Bill Thornton and Chair Scott Mitchell.

Thanks to Cornwall Community Foundation our Warm Welcome & Support Hub is helping individuals experiencing homelessness, including those with no fixed abode or living in temporary accommodation.

The £10,000 funding from the Single Homeless and Rough Sleeper Fund helps us to provide this alongside our food bank sessions, offering a safe, inclusive space where people can stay after collecting their food parcels.

Thank You!

Our new Fundraising & Comms manager Josie, popped along to our Friday foodbank to take a look at what goes on behind the scenes.

"I am so impressed by the tremendous effort our volunteers make to ensure our visitors to the foodbank feel supported."

Week in, week out, they deliver, stock, sort, and provide food to address individuals' and families' immediate need, supporting our work with other agencies to help people regain their independence in the long term.

As comes to a close, we know we couldn't achieve what we do without them.

If you need us and this feels relatable we want you to know you're not alone. There is still so much stigma and negativity surrounding using a food bank and whilst we are advocating to change that, we know in the mean time embarrassment and shame are common words people tell us they feel when struggling. We cannot shout it loud enough that should you need us, we will be there. We can't change how it feels for you inside, but we can welcome you with a friendly smile and zero judgement.
