🌊World Rivers Day 🌊

Today, we celebrate the rivers that sustain wildlife, support communities, and enrich our environment.
Our rivers are home to incredible biodiversity and provide vital resources for people and nature alike. By reducing litter, disposing of waste responsibly, and caring for our local waterways, we can all play a part in protecting these precious habitats.
Let's work together to keep our rivers clean, healthy, and thriving for future generations.
💙 Every action counts.🌱 Protect local wildlife.🚮 Leave no litter behind.

Behind every childhood cancer diagnosis is a family navigating fear, hope, and endless resilience.
This September, Newquay Lions recognise the parents, siblings, carers, and medical teams who give everything to support their children.

💛 Your strength inspires our service.
💛 Your courage moves our community.

Let’s keep raising awareness and standing together.

Newquay Lions Monthly Bingo at The Griffin Inn

Join us for an afternoon of fun, laughter and friendly competition at the Newquay Lions Monthly Bingo, held at The Griffin Inn, Newquay, on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 2pm to 4pm.

Our bingo afternoons are a much‑loved community event — relaxed, sociable, and open to everyone. With entry at just £2.50 and £1 per game, it’s an affordable way to enjoy a couple of hours out while supporting local causes.

Guests can also enjoy refreshments and delicious homemade cakes, lovingly prepared by our Lions volunteers. Whether you’re a regular or joining us for the first time, you’ll receive a warm welcome and plenty of smiles.

All proceeds help Newquay Lions continue our work within the community, supporting individuals, families and local projects throughout the year.

Come along, bring a friend, and enjoy a great afternoon for a great cause.

International Literacy Day – 8th September

Today we celebrate the power of reading, learning, and opportunity.
The Newquay Lions proudly support International Literacy Day, recognising that literacy opens doors, strengthens communities, and changes lives.

From helping children build confidence to supporting adults gaining new skills, literacy is a foundation for independence and hope.

💛 Literacy empowers
💛 Literacy connects
💛 Literacy builds brighter futures

Thank you to everyone who teaches, mentors, volunteers, and supports learning in our community.
Together, we help Newquay grow stronger.

💛 September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Newquay Lions stand with children and families facing the unimaginable.

This month, we honour the courage of young people in treatment, celebrate the strength of survivors, and remember those taken too soon.
Join us in raising awareness — Go Gold and show families they’re not alone.
