🐾 Our Beautiful Puppies are Looking for Their Forever Homes 🐾
*PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE APPLYING

The time has come for our beautiful Queenie's puppies to carry on to their next chapter in life.

The little ones are currently 8 weeks old (3 boys and 2 girls). They will not be leaving us until they are at least 10 weeks old, giving them more time to grow, learn and prepare for their next chapter. ❤️

They are Border Terrier (sire) x French Bulldog (dam), and they are already showing plenty of those wonderful terrier traits! They are curious, playful, adventurous and absolutely love exploring their surroundings. 🐶🌿

Despite having a hard start in life, these puppies are very sweet, affectionate and well socialised. They deserve nothing less than a beautiful future with families who will love them unconditionally and give them the time and commitment they need to thrive.

🏡 What sort of home are we looking for?

We are particularly looking for active, committed homes that understand and enjoy terrier-type traits. These pups would love a life filled with walks, exploring, enrichment, play and adventures!

They will need families who are prepared to continue their training and help them grow into happy, confident adult dogs.
As with any young puppy, their new families will need to be prepared for:
🐾 House training
🐾 Learning to settle and be left alone gradually
🐾 Ongoing socialisation
🐾 Basic training and boundaries
🐾 Lots of patience, consistency and positive reinforcement

They will need somebody at home for most of the day to help with house training and basic training. We would ideally like their future homes to have a lifestyle where the dogs will not routinely be left alone for more than around 3 hours once they are adults.

❓What their breed could mean:
Border Terrier dad: Border Terriers are intelligent, active and tenacious, and often enjoy having a job to do — whether that's exploring on walks, learning new things, playing games or using their noses.
French Bulldog mom: Frenchies are well known for being very sociable little characters who enjoy being part of family life and having plenty of companionship. They can also be lively and playful.

These pups are therefore likely to be fun, affectionate, curious and full of personality, but prospective adopters should be prepared for an active little dog who will need training, enrichment, boundaries and plenty of opportunities to explore.

They may have a terrier's natural instinct to investigate, chase or dig, so a secure garden and sensible management will be important. They will also need owners who enjoy getting out and about and who are happy to keep their minds busy as well as their bodies.

Because they are a crossbreed, each puppy will develop their own individual personality and may inherit characteristics from either breed to different degrees. We can't predict exactly what each puppy will be or look like as an adult, but we're already seeing plenty of curiosity, playfulness and that wonderful spirit in them.

These aren't puppies looking for somewhere simply because they're cute — they are looking for people who are ready to make a long-term commitment and give them the life they deserve. ❤️
They have so much potential and already have such lovely personalities. We want to see them grow up to be happy, loved and cherished members of their families, enjoying all the fun, exploration and adventures that life has to offer. 🌿🐾

WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS TO JOIN OUR KENNEL TEAM

If you enjoy working with, helping to train and rehabilitate the dogs in our care, then you could be who we need.
We are looking for people who:
Are fit and mobile
Able to work without constant supervision
Are able to commit to at least one session per week (sessions are 8.30 or 9.00am to 12.30 or 1.00pm and 1.00pm to 5.00pm)
We offer full initial and ongoing training

🐾 Big dogs, big personalities, BIG hearts- Calling all BIG dog lovers ❤️

Pickles, Balou & Kenny are just some of the big dogs in our kennels at the moment who are looking for foster or foster-to-adopt homes!

This lovely trio are full of fun and life. They are active dogs who can be strong on the lead, so they'll need equally active, confident and capable handlers who are committed to their ongoing training and helping them thrive!

They must be the only dog in the home, cannot live with cats or small animals, but could live with sensible, dog-savvy older children (10–12+).

🥒 Pickles- 5 year old Boxer cross:
A loving, sensitive snuggle bug who adores her favourite people. She can be wary of strangers initially, especially men, and needs some help managing her excitement around other dogs.

A big softie who loves cuddles and playtime! He’s working on his lead walking and weight loss, and needs someone to support him with both.

I am a young boy (12 months) full of passion for life. I am being rehomed due to my owner’s ill health and would really like a new home where I can go on lots of adventures and do some training.

I am a big, lovable boy that enjoys attention, treats and playing. I’m told I don’t have a nasty bone in my body but I am very strong on the lead so need fit and active owners that can help me work on this. I am really trainable and love to use my intelligent brain.

From fighting for her life… to finding her forever home.❤️🐾

When Hazel first came to St Francis Dogs Home, she was in a critical state and fighting for her life. She needed urgent veterinary care and, after undergoing two major surgeries, her road to recovery began.

Thanks to an incredible foster home, Hazel was able to continue her recovery somewhere safe, warm and full of love. Slowly but surely, she grew stronger. Her health improved, her personality began to shine through, and that little puppy who had once been so poorly started enjoying life again.

And now… Hazel has been adopted! 🎉

Her foster family fell completely in love with her and have decided that they simply couldn't let her go. Hazel has officially found her forever home, with the people who have been beside her throughout her recovery 🏡

But Hazel's story wouldn't have been possible without our incredible community.
You raised an amazing £9,315 to help cover Hazel's £7,500 surgery costs, as well as her ongoing treatment and rehabilitation. Every donation, share, kind message and bit of support helped give this little girl the chance she so desperately needed.

A PSA FROM A GSD OWNER ~
On September 23rd, 2026 "Heart of the Beast" starring Brad Pitt will debut in theaters across America.
Whenever a movie features an incredible dog, something predictable happens:
People leave the theater thinking, “I want THAT dog.”
And when that dog is a German Shepherd, I understand why.
They’re beautiful. Powerful. Loyal. Intelligent. Protective.
On the big screen, they can look like the coolest, easiest, most amazing dogs in the world.
But before you run out and get a German Shepherd because you fell in love with one in a movie, please understand this:
A German Shepherd is work.
A LOT of work.
I know because I’ve owned and loved German Shepherds for over 30 years. Actually let me correct myself . . . You don't own a German Shepherd, they own you.
The well-behaved dog you admire didn’t come that way by accident. German Shepherds need training, structure, exercise, attention, socialization, patience and consistency.
They need an owner who is willing to put in the time—not just during the adorable puppy stage, but for years.
They start shedding the first week of January and stop the last week of December and if you listen closely you can hear all the GSD owners laughing.
They’re strong. They will study you. They will learn your every move, and be there before you ask.
They’re intelligent enough to figure out what you’re doing wrong before you do.
They need physical exercise and mental stimulation.
And when you don’t give a German Shepherd a job, don’t worry:
They’ll find one. You just might not like the job they choose.
A German Shepherd can be one of the most extraordinary companions you’ll ever have. Their loyalty is unmatched, and the bond can be incredible.
But that relationship is earned through time, commitment, training and responsibility.
So enjoy the movie. Fall in love with the dog on the screen.
But please don’t choose a breed simply because Hollywood made it look cool.
Research the breed. Talk to German Shepherd owners. Speak with trainers. Visit a rescue. Be brutally honest about your lifestyle and the next 10–12 years of your life.
Because six months after the movie leaves the theater, that beautiful German Shepherd puppy may be a 70–90-pound adolescent who still needs you to show up every single day.
Dogs aren’t movie souvenirs.
If you decide a German Shepherd truly fits your life, wonderful. You’ll understand why so many of us love this breed so deeply.
But if you’re not ready for the work, do the dog—and yourself—a favor.
Admire the German Shepherd on the big screen. Don’t bring one home until you’re ready for the responsibility that comes with the star. 🐾
