'Restoring Strength Through Nature' - helping Veterans & the community with their social wellbeing. Programs across the U.K.

Green therapy is increasingly used to support veterans’ (and the community's) mental health and well-being. This therapeutic approach involves activities like gardening, hiking, and nature walks, helping veterans reconnect with the natural world. Studies have shown that green therapy can reduce symptoms of PTSD, depression, and anxiety, offering a peaceful and restorative environment. provide veterans with opportunities to engage in nature, fostering a sense of purpose and community. By promoting physical activity and mindfulness, green therapy serves as an effective, holistic alternative to traditional mental health treatments for veterans. The name Kamp Menalhyl comes from the Cornish words kamp ~ camp~ Kamp plus melyn meaning mill and heyl meaning estuary - estuary mills.

None of the usual keyholders are at Kamp today due to various circumstances. Apologies if anyone was heading up there today. Usual complement next Saturday

What a fantastic day today!
We had the guys from Screwfix / The Screwfix Foundation with us today helping out.👌
Lots of mowing, weeding and tidying up, plus some great work helping us extend our range and put some posts in.
Great bunch of people that we can't thank you enough for volunteering once again.🫶

What a fantastic camp out we all had last night. No campfire this time but we still had a great time using our new pizza oven, donated by an awesome veteran who has recently got involved in the camp.

Great news! We have a 4 page feature in this Summers' 𝘙𝘰𝘺𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘳𝘮𝘺 𝘖𝘳𝘥𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘱𝘴 𝘎𝘢𝘻𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦.
After less than 2 years the camp is just growing and growing. We are all very proud of what everyone has achieved.👌

It was great to get a fly-past by a Spitfire the other day. The sound of that Merlin engine is always a beautiful sound.🫶🏻

Time to save up our pennies to get a flight via these guys🙏

This Saturday (25th July) we are expanding our 'range area' & could do with a few extra hands on deck.
If you have an hour or 2 to volunteer (from 0930) then drop by the camp to help us with mowing, bramble clearing, shed building & painting, then that would be awesome.
We'll pay you with food cooked on our outdoor kitchen & a bit of fun shooting on the range afterwards, and of course banter by the bagful........
(cute image of puppy added to grab your attention ;) although she does visit the camp most Saturdays)
