People power is working. Let's keep the pressure up and let's ✊

The response to the government shift on from our Chief Executive, Hugo Tagholm 👇

“Over the past week, Ocean Activists across the country have raised their voices to declare that the continued destruction of our rivers and coastline is not an option. A huge thank you to everyone who has spoken out and forced the government to realise that we won’t accept the status quo of polluted water and profiteering water companies any longer. People power can force positive change.

We look forward to scrutinising the government’s new proposals to make sure they will legally oblige water companies to invest to end sewage pollution – anything less will be unacceptable to the millions across the country demanding the protection of our precious blue spaces.

We welcome the Environment Bill’s amendments on data, reports and presenting plans for improvement, but the crucial piece of the puzzle is the legal driver for water companies to act. The devil is in the detail and we demand an Environment Bill which seeks to end sewage pollution.

After decades of raking in billions in profit, the water industry must now plough investment into protecting and restoring our amazing rivers and coastline. This landmark Bill must ensure that happens.”

Please respect 'No Landing' signs as this group disturbed seals hauling out for over an hour and disturbed all the nesting seabirds that use this rock.

With such a sharp increase in domestic coastal holidays this year, it's more important than ever that we aim to be wildlife friendly when enjoying our beautiful coastline. Disturbance is always a waste of energy for seals, sometimes resulting in injury and occasionally being fatal.

Whilst there are many cases of excellent and responsible human activity, this is not always the case. This group ignored the 'No landing' signs and wandered all over this island. Their activity prevented seals hauling out on their favourite rocks for nearly and hour, and disturbed all the resting sea birds in the area.

Please give seals space and enjoy, respect and protect our marine environment. You can make a direct difference in helping coastal wildlife 💙

WOOP! WOOP! North Fistral body board recycling box is a GO!💪 We are so delighted to have the support of everyone at North Fistral 🙏

What we do plead, is that 💥only body boards are to go in this container.💥 If we have lots of issues with general waste or disposable bbqs etc, then the box will have to be taken away and we really don't want to have to resort to that. We know we are totally talking to the wrong people on here but we have to put the plea out there in any case.

This officially marks our 6th and final collection box 🥳(for this summer at least) and it will be fascinating to see which beach we collect the most broken boards from. What we really need is for local places to stop selling the cheap, breakable polystyrene boards, and sell or hire better quality ones. 💚
