Crantock Street Community Garden

Is there anyone with a drone who might be able to get some ariel shots of the garden for us over the weekend please 🙏

Thanks to our little group who endlessly battle the weeds ... we got lots done in a hour tonight!

Apart from the huge tyre, we thought the fly tipping had been managed, however someone stupidly decided to dump a plastic bag of rubbish over the wall into a bush while we were gardening tonight so we confronted them about it.

They're a known offender, and we had a quiet word recently, but they were caught pretty much red handed tonight.

Here's hoping that they won't risk it again, or they will be reported to Cornwall Council for fly tipping.

Our herb garden is brimming with amazing herbs - perfect for sunday roasts!

Come down and help yourselves

Has anyone lost a tyre?

Thank you so much to our wonderful friend Simon Osborne for collecting the waste and taking it to the tip.

We've now put signs up and hope this is the last of the fly tipping!

If you spot anyone, either challenge them if you feel comfortable doing that, or report them to us and Cornwall Council for fly tipping. (Pictures of them a bonus!)

PLEASE STOP! 🛑✋️

These signs are going up today and we will report anyone leaving rubbish in the garden for fly tipping.

We have advised Cornwall Council, however as this is no longer their land, they don't remove waste from the garden.

Is there anyone locally who might be willing to dispose of this for us please?

Great little session tonight.... continuing to fight the pesky weeds!

Will people please STOP dumping their s**t in the garden. There is no rubbish collection here and we haven't got any way of removing it 🤬

We have reported this to Cornwall Council and if those responsible are seen dumping rubbish you will be reported.

We're so incredibly grateful to the wonderful team at Laurence Associates for their generous support.

When we were told we needed to apply for planning permission for the redevelopment project, we approached them to ask for help. We also dropped in that we had no spare funds to pay for their expertise!

So we owe a huge 'thank you' to the team for giving us their time and skills, and for securing planning permission for the garden redevelopment.

We're so close to kicking off the project and can't wait to see our dreams become a reality.

Great news from Newquay.

Laurence Associates has secured full planning permission for the redevelopment of a valued community garden, helping transform an underused space that had fallen into disrepair.

Working alongside architects and community stakeholders, our team helped bring forward plans for a refreshed public space featuring new seating, lawn areas, improved planting, a shade sail and better access throughout the site.

The approved scheme will improve safety, boost biodiversity, support local businesses and create a more welcoming place for residents and visitors to enjoy.

We look forward to seeing this important community space brought back to life.

If you have plans for a community project or development proposal, our team would be delighted to help guide the planning process.
