Exciting New Announcement Incoming!

Are you 12 to 22 years?
Do you love theatre and performance?
Do you want to go into the performance or theatre sector?
Then CYTC may be the place for you.

We now have our 2026 - 2027 season dates for Cornwall Youth Theatre Company.

We'd love to see some new faces in our casts this season. We're touring two shows in March and May 2027, and both shows will be coming to our hometown of Newquay.

We have three skills sessions for potential new members to try this season:

27th Sept - Stage Combat with Andy Blake
4th Oct - Street Theatre and Improv with Hotch Potch Performance
11th Oct - Storytelling with Jenny Beare

So after well over a year of work we're finally excited to be able to release our Connected Communities report which was commissioned by Safer Stronger Communities. The Connected Communities project saw us co-manage the first ever Empowering Newquay's Future event in May 2025, and attend Look Out Festival in Sept 2025 and go on to write a report, which explored the reasons why young people are leaving Newquay. ONS data reveals that older teens and people in their 20's are not staying or choosing Newquay as a place to live and the Connected Communities report explores why this could be.

We’re bringing our Earnest troupe to on 20th July. Get your tickets direct from Penlee and come and check it out.

Next stop for us this summer is .arts.festival. We’re bringing the Blystra Arts Zone to Nansledan this Sat, as part of the Fun in the Parc event from 1pm to 4pm. Come and paint a picture, put your mark on a communal piece of art and make a nature mask.

Cornwall Youth Theatre Company has one more show to go this season at Penlee Park Open Air Theatre on Mon 20th July. We'd love to get a good audience for our talented troupe of young actors. Spread the word and come and see our version of this hilarious Oscar Wilde show.

Wow! What a great day we had at the Newquay Orchard Summer Fayre today! Thanks to everyone who came along and made something to take home in the Blystra Arts Zone.

So sad to hear of the passing of local woman, Liz Carne who was such a supporter of our work. Her father and grandfather featured very heavily in our 2017-2018 play and project, Tide and Time, which was one of our first creative heritage projects we delivered. She had such a huge and positive impact on the Newquay community. RIP Liz. Your kindness and warmth will be never be forgotten.
